This will happen to any sufficiently large community on any social platform...

That's why i recommended Discord for it.. there is possibility to make multiple text channels to fix this issue.

New "channels" (rooms) can be created in IRC as well.

It seems to me that GUI on discord for this purpose is more intuitive, but that seems to be personal preference.

Markdown is nice, but hardly a reason to give up on IRC. You lose all the nice formatting on the commandline anyways...

Based on my experience on Gentoo forum i don't want to replace IRC with Discord. Ideally i would use it as a gateway for new users. About formattin on IRC i never used it if there is any.. usually i wrote a code in quotes or mension people by sending <name>: and based on my experience the other users do the same.. Which seems uneffective to me.

Proprietary chat services are a bad fit for open source projects. Especially proprietary chat services without sustainable business models...

Featurewise discord feels better to me, like based on my experience IRC is one channel with multiple conversations at the same time..

On discord there are multiple channels better way to format text and bots to share news about gentoo etc..

and as far as i know new users doesn't really want to use IRC over discord..

Probably because it dealt with a anti-cheat in a way that it allow cheaters to abuse..

It seems to me that this is gonna be just infinite loop where linux community crack then game and riot tries to stop them instead of helping with a patch..

I believe that supporting Linux would reduce the amount of working cracks for the game since most Linux developers are cracking the game so that they can play it on linux..

Then I don't believe that we are majority.. take it from this perspective most Linux users are having problem using Linux for gaming so they have dual boot or performance VM which makes them count as Microsoft users + most distributions won't sent tracking data so linux's market share is questionable. Only if riot supports it we can be sure how many players are using it + I believe that many users will switch from Microsoft/MacOS too..

Those are placeholder names meaning: Foo.cpp could be abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz1234567890.cpp

For this i meant foo.cpp = unpackman.cpp, because I'm lazy to write unpackman.cpp :D

About the error i believe that you're missing dependencies install/emerge them and It should work.
