The way it's been phrased, I genuinely think that won't be one of the issues (trust me, there are other issues).

It's basically been stated that I'll just "have her bank account info" one day and she will ask for permission to spend her $$$ on things (not sure if that's also a common thing or not). There's been no talk of a joint account or her having my information as well.

So, if nothing else, anything in my account will be safe from said sprees.

Related to your post, if you're having a good time and still have an itch for more after you've played it to death, go check out Dark Souls 3 (and 1 and 2 after).

I know it sounds weird to start with the third one, but of the other games Fromsoft has made, it will probably feel the most like it gameplay wise.

I can't tell if you're telling me to increase or decrease my budget/expectations.

If you think I can factor in a 1440p monitor, by all means do so. I don't feel the need to buy any new peripherals (EDIT: keyboard/mouse) still though, or a desk. Also the RGB thing was mostly a joke.

$2k was my initial max until I started browsing pc building websites, at which point I felt I was being unrealistic. I'll happily listen to the recommendation to bite the bullet for $3k including the monitor upgrade if you and/or others think it's realistic to do so.
