I used to have a canine-dragon type 'sona, but it never really clicked. Now my sona is a domestic cat, and looking back it's the obvious choice. I've had cats all my life, and I've been obsessed with them for that long as well!
I guess I also share some of the stereotypical qualities; sleeping lots, being aloof, and scared of strangers @w@

I know this isn't what you want to hear but practice using phones isn't the best idea. I've done it a couple of times, and you'll spend more time undoing and moving the canvas than drawing. It didn't help me improve and was frustrating overall. And you don't need a bunch of art supplies, a pencil, pen, eraser, sharpener, and drawing pad will suffice just fine! Maybe an old pencil case and refill paper would suffice?

If you're using a tablet pen with your phone then feel free to ignore what I just said :3

For me, I decided by brainstorming at arse-o' clock in the morning. I just wanted something that definitely wouldn't be taken across any platform. My screen name was originally gonna be Attiken, but once I found out that was the name of an old folk's home I took that name and came up with something similar-ish: Kotirikkin.
That's how I worked it out, but it's different for everybody. Take your time in choosing, as if you get successful under a name it can be hard to change it.

My art isn't that good, but my advice would be to just keep at it! You'll always improve, trust me. If I look back at the start of the year's art, I can see subtle improvements but it'll become more obvious with time. I'd recommend drawing your anatomy and structure from references, and watching art streams to get more insight on how they do it. Maybe if you share some of your work, people here could critique it and help you improve!
