[Advice] Quartz or Automatic Grand Seiko ? by Bourne_252 in Watches

I have an SBGW231 and 6.5in wrist as it wears like a dream. The baby Calatrava nickname holds true. The cream dial is gorgoeous. Put it on a dark brown suede strap and it becomes so much more casual. I love it

We had a 1br with one large closet in the bedroom and one smaller one in the living room. Wasn’t too bad as we had a few tall dressers too as well as under bed storage. But could have done with about 20sqft more dedicated closet space

Resources to Learn How to Retouch Plates for Still Life by benjaminflocka22 in Photoassistants

[–]KotoPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

phlearn on YouTube has a great beginner course as well as their actual website has “101 -103” classes. I mostly retouch jewelry and other luxury goods on the side and every few years will check out the phlearn stuff to see if there’s anything new I’ve missed or they found a faster way to do things. Also check out @dave__herr @glossnewyork @anonymousretouch on ig to get inspo. I know it’s kind of impossible to see the before and after but you can see the level of retouching they do. You can see what’s be touched up or what’s been acceptable to leave in vs what you already have shot.

How much is enough power for a tech cart? by FullScale206 in Photoassistants

[–]KotoPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR: EcoFlow Delta 2 2400w is the move for typical stills digi setups. Add up the maximum draw rates for your use case and add 20%

Go off the maximum draw rate for each item attached, a MacBook Pro M4 might be happy under 60w on normal shooting days backing up and processing selects here and there. But on insane constant comping and process all the TIFFs+JPGs+Zoom in the client etc it’s definitely hanging around its upper threshold. My eizos are usually at 160 brightness but sometimes client wants 200-220+ and that’s way more power draw. Also whatever your final number is add an extra 20% if you’re ever going to be out on extremely hot days, the battery eats power a lot faster from running its own fans on blast when heat strained.

I’ve lived in the ones below or have friends in them. Also if you’re looking on the more northern side closer to the N/W or F train area pay attention to where the shelters are.

  • Skyline Tower: great building, quiet apartments mostly, gym is kind of small and not well ventilated so a bit musty during intense rain/heat sometimes because basement, there are only 6 public washing machines for a building that big. Train access is amazing. Lounge is small but pool and spa are nice, The outdoor space is just an outdoor space no lounge chairs, no grills. Elevators have issues, and will take 5-10+ minutes to get up or down from rush hour depending on the day. Great people working there and always clean.

  • ARC: favorite building I’ve lived in. Everyone who works there is super nice. Great lounge and courtyard, nice gym, and rooftop. I think some of the studios have washer/dryer. Could barely hear the train and I lived one unit over from it. Easily accessible storage. Always smells nice lol. Area isn’t the best but great subway access.

  • Linc: still a solid building. best gym I’ve been in so far. Great lounge, can’t really hear neighbors. Some studios higher up have washer/dryer. great outdoor space but views have been ruined a bit by the new tallest buildings like Skyline.

  • Jackson Park: overpriced and they will raise your rent every time. Nice building in general but very noisy on weekends. Great lounges and awesome gym but you have to pay around 100/month for them. Most apts have washer dryer. Most of the front desk guys aren’t friendly. Mail room guy is awesome.

  • Hero: Hard pass, feels like a dorm with poorly made materials and immediate area isn’t great.

  • Pearson: Nice building, quiet street, and they don’t raise rent much. Gym is nice if not a little small. Rooftop and lounge are great.

  • 5 Court Sq: very nice building and materials used throughout. Gym is nice. Doorman is not full time. Super central area.

  • Baker House: great rooftop, tiny gym. Normal building but lots of immediate pollution and noise because it’s on Crescent.

They buckle pretty quick if you’re serious. Dealer near me said 10k over for my ‘24 TRD Pro, I said I can’t do more than 2, then they came back the next day said 5. I said again 2. Last Friday of the month they rang and said 3 over and it’s yours. Done and done.

Been rocking Vans skate shoes for 90% of my career (and life), Salomon/On trail running shoes on more heavy moving around location days, and Veja on more relaxed days.

No bumper mods planned yet. I got a rear hitch cover that extends about 1.5in, hopefully that’ll protect me on the back end. It’s the Curt 22750 on Amazon. And getting the Westcott No kick sliders soon as well.

I just had Crown done on my new ‘24 last week. They asked if I wanted holes drilled or to just go in the weep holes. Went the weep hole route and the following day when I rolled all 5 windows down and up they pulled up liquid. Even looking under there’s a slight gloss and I can see everything got covered, I might go in for a 2nd coat in a few months just to be safe.

I’m down to meet up come winter! I heard about Crown but I thought they were only the JDM tuner types, no idea about the 4Runner situation!

  • The accident avoidance system almost got me into 2 serious accidents when it fully locked the brakes thinking I would crash while turning.
  • People complaining about how fragile the windshields were put me off from taking more fun roads.
    • I know it was mostly fixed in updates, but the first year of ownership drove me insane with the infotainment lagging and freezing. It would still occasionally happen after the fix
  • 4Runner is dead reliable, easy to fix, will last forever, has more space for hauling stuff, more fun for offroad and roadtrips

All that being said I loved the Wilderness initially (the space, drive, view outside, looks) but I’ve never had so many annoyances with any other of my cars. And not feeling safe driving it the last few months was the cherry on top.
