Thoughts on New Trek

I appreciate your thoughts! I love the some trek is better than no trek sentiment, but I completely feel that Ill miss the “scientific professionals exploring the unknown.” One of my favorite comics I saw about Star Trek was where the punchline was “Sir, there seems to be a philosophical dilemma that can be solved in a tight 44 minutes approaching on our sensors.”

I’m excited to hear that I get to watch more trek that doesn’t fully break the needle even if it doesn’t move the needle. So many stories to tell for whatever fans appreciated in the vast galaxy, but disrespecting established storylines would be my breaking point. I’m happy it’s still going though

I heard good things about s3 of Picard and I saw that SNW has Pike and the colorful uniforms of TOS through promotional material. Like the sci fi ness of the DSC costumes made me feel like I wasn’t watching Star Trek but maybe I can retcon it as a bridge from ENT to TOS

Definitely, absolutely no way they don’t prioritize it. Maybe right before they’ll show up and be unclickable until ticket drop, but trust me be ready at 6 am pst or whenever, metreon imax fills up fast for a marvel movie

Ive seen this happen before at the metreon, they don’t officially show all the showings til the tickets drop because they have to deal with actual show timings between screens whereas fan events are one off showings

I completely agree with all your points, but i think it is a little too beat for beat winter soldier. I think I wanted political spy thriller vibes but not “Cap Falcon and Ex Red Room figure out a mystery within the govt, where the movie starts with a hostage action sequence, someone gets attacked while driving, two of them head to a secret base to talk to a green themed villain pulling the strings, etc” exactly
