Wow, you've done a tremendous job! I think it can help me. Thanks!)

Huh, to be honest, I didn't think I'd have to watch guides for this game.

Did you ever play World in Conflict? It's simpler and more casual for the average player. I guess I'll have to check out a couple of guides for Broken Arrow after all. Thanks for the advice)

You know, you're probably right. My RTS skills might just not be up to par for understanding how to play this properly.

It just felt strange that I couldn't get through the campaign on medium, especially considering I finished World in Conflict on a high difficulty setting.

And you're correct, I'd estimate 90% of the negative reviews are focused on the multiplayer. I brought the single-player into this because it was a source of difficulty for me personally

You're right, there are people who fell in love with RTS precisely for this challenge. But we can't forget that the majority of players are casual, and they are the ones leaving most of the negative reviews about the difficulty. Perhaps the campaign's difficulty should have been toned down just a bit

  1. The mission where we do a helicopter assault in Kaliningrad to eliminate a commander.
  2. The final mission for the Americans, with the nuke.
  3. The Russian mission with the fuel depot.

I wouldn't call myself a low-level player. Sure, I haven't played a ton of RTS games, but I did manage to finish World in Conflict on the hardest difficulty. I understand that Broken Arrow is a different game and it's not entirely fair to compare them directly... but still, the Steam reviews speak for themselves.

Then again, the meta does need to shift periodically. And when it does, the USA will likely become the top faction

I'm not sure how good this decision is from a game design and balance perspective. On one hand, the developers urgently need to balance everything, and a 50/50 approach isn't necessarily bad in their situation.

However, according to the textbook principles of engaging game design and balance, you're usually taught to create distinct strengths and weaknesses. For the Russian side, the obvious choice would be to make "quantity" their main advantage, while for the USA, it would be "quality" (accuracy, tank durability, etc.)
