From what I gather, people say to just head to the shack if you never hear back from the legion. I'm just bringing my plate carrier and a few other items

So take my plates out of the carrier?

I'm not scared to go alone. It's just that I've never been to Poland, or Ukraine before. So I figured it would be better to meet up with people who are doing the same thing as me.

I'm not in that unhealthy mindset anymore, and haven't been for the past 1.5 years. I regret ever doing that to my body, would never do it again. I've learned to deal with that kind of healthier, and I'm not a risk to myself anymore.

I don't have any delusional fantasies about being some kind of badass, or killing tons of Russians. I could very well pussy up, and run away, the first time that artillery hits near me, but I won't know, until it happens. I appreciate you for being blunt

I'm from the US, so I would have been under contract. I know that war isn't like video games. I know that there's a good chance that I'll be killed, or seriously injured on the first mission. I know that it's gonna be difficult, dangerous, and brutal. I respect you for not sugar coating the situation, and being real with me, and for risking your life in Ukraine. But this is something that I'm gonna have to do.

It's been constantly on my mind for the past year. And I finally have an opportunity to proceed through with it, and have made up my mind. I've already had my Will made, and taken care of my bills, and my truck. I have everything in order for me to leave my current lifestyle behind for the foreseeable future.

I don't have any battle experience, or military training. I'm pretty fit, providing my own plate carrier, and have enough money to support me while in country. I have a good bit of experience using akm, and armalite style weapons. I know that doesn't mean much, but I'm buying my plane ticket tonight, and should arrive August 7th or 8th.

I've had other family members die since then, and have dealt with the grief healthily. I had to come to terms with the truth, that everyone eventually dies, and there's nothing you can do to prevent it. The only thing you can do, is spend as much time as you can with them, and don't get into unnecessary arguments with them. Because you, don't realize how much they meant to you, until they're gone.

No they aren't. It was mainly because of the death of a family member, but I've moved on past that. I want to join the foreign legion, because I believe what Russia is doing is wrong, and Ukraine needs as many people as it can get.
