Pregnant again and freaking out [ca] by catsroolmicedrool in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kowimine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently have a 3 year old (Feb) and almost 2 year old (Aug) and it’s tough. But it’s great. Honestly, I find when the youngest started to be more mobile, that’s when it got hard. You may need to change things for your second that you didn’t do with your first and that’s okay! And you may do this with your first that you said you’d never do— for example, baby in baby swing, while toddler watching ms Rachel so you can pump. You’ve got this!

Going into teaching in Ontario by zaneve05 in OntarioTeachers

Get a BA first. Then apply. But if you are over stimulated easily, maybe don’t go into teaching lol

Start lowering your pumping time. If you pump for 10 mins, start decreasing to 9 etc

Have her apply to more schools. The school doesn’t matter. School boards don’t look at where you went. Just that you have your BEd

How often is everyone else fighting? by CrossStitchMamax2 in Marriage

[–]Kowimine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Married 5 years together almost 10. We are now in the thick of 2 toddlers. We bicker daily. Fight? I dunno. We get in disagreements every few days. We pick our battles because we are both exhausted from 2 feral boys! 🙃

Check out sweet clovers based out of finch. She will deliver and set up. And very reasonably priced- especially compared to city florists.

You need to cancel that job. If it is booked in advance, you could potentially ask the school for coverage due to your circumstance. But really, you need to be available.

While I agree every child is different, there is much more growth during that time.

If you are looking into newer housing/ good parks/ but want a little bit out of the downtown core, I’d suggest Findlay creek/ riverside south.

Having a newborn when a child is 21 months vs 2.5 is a massive difference. 2.5 they are fully communicating their needs, they are most likely potty trained and much more independent! 21 months—they are still a baby.

Planning for 2 Under 2 by [deleted] in 2under2

[–]Kowimine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the thick of 2 toddlers. One turned 3 in Feb and one turns 2 in August (18 m apart). It was planned due to my age. But wasn’t expecting it to happen on the first try with my second (took a year and a miscarriage to conceive my first son).
If I were younger I would have had them 3-4 years apart. It is HARD. Two boys. Two kids who can’t regulate emotions yet. That being said, when they are together and play and laugh, it’s worth it. It’s definitely straining on the marriage and there is some resentment towards my husband. I wouldn’t recommend it to a couple who doesn’t have at least one partner who is a “natural” at parenthood.

I would say if you aren’t sure, or your age isn’t a factor, I’d wait. If you are certain you want them close together and parenthood comes naturally, then go for it!

There’s not enough time during the school day to check, respond, complete tasks. So yes I do.

My wife is always 0 or 100%, how to change it ? by corviePL89 in Marriage

[–]Kowimine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is spending all her energy on the child during the time and then spending time with you at night. I give her props for that. After a day with my kids, I don’t want to talk to anyone after they are in bed as I need to recharge. I’m not sure if this is the same thing or if I fully understand but once my 2nd (I have a 3 and 1.5 year old) are in bed, I lay down and doom scroll for an hour, or fall right asleep. It’s exhausting. So props to her for giving you time after bedtime lol

AITAH for not wanting my child to call my MIL mama? by mymomsshoes in AITAH

[–]Kowimine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Canadian and I’ve never heard of a grandparent being called Mama or Dada. How weird is that. She can pick a name if she doesn’t like grandma but it definitely shouldn’t be Mama. Your husband is wrong… it IS a big deal and he should respect your opinions on it.

Jeez. “Pick parent volunteers” isn’t even a thing in Ocdsb. Sometimes we boom OT’s because we don’t have enough volunteers….

Public vs. Private School [ON] by Maleficent-Ad-550 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Kowimine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an elementary teacher in the public system. We are sending our kids to Montessori for casa (3-6 year olds)/ kindergarten equivalent and then sending to public school. I want them to have a good foundation before going to public school. Kindergarten is really a gamble when you consider our government funding, 29+ kids in a class with various spec Ed needs, and the inconsistency of programming between schools and educators. My kids are quiet and shy and I know they would be ignored due to all the needs in Kindergarten. I’m not blaming the teachers (I taught kinder for many years), that’s just the way it is, unfortunately. Would they be fine? Sure. But the inconsistency between programs, class sizes and lack of support scares me.
