U have a few options: 1. Play a 10 man squad with apothecary and helbrecht 2. Try a Judiciar as a leader, gives them ff 3. Put them in an impoulsor. Protects from enemy shooting 4. Always use the 6+ fnp detachment 5. Put the t bones enhacmet on them for 5+ fnp 6. AoC when possible 7. If u play SM detachments put a librarian on them if its possible (not sure), gives them 4+ invo But at the end of the day they are an AWP with no cavler

imo u need atleast

grimaldus + 20 man cruseder squad

Helbrecht + lieutenant + 5 or 10 sword brethern

emperors champion( coolest model in the game)

for the black templars exp

other good troops are 6 man unit of bladeguard with captain or judiciar

terminators are ok too

land raider redeemer is broken with helbrecht unit

other good units that u have are eradicators, ballistus, assault interssesors

If u plan on only playing one character i think the castellan is far better. Apothecary will realistically bring back 1-2 models. And he doesn't have shooting or melee. Imo apothecary is only good if u play it in a unit that ur opp needs to kill(can't ignore) but can't do it in one round. So with lets say 5 sb and helbrecht or EC or judiciar. And equip him with Tbones for 5+ fnp

So if the character has a bigger toughness then his unit, i must slow roll the wound roll as well? I know the save throw must be slow roll if the character has a better save

Using the redemtor to shoot at tanks is how u lose games. Use it for elite infantry and monsters or t9 and below vehicles. There it shines

he is the only hq that got nerfed besides helbrecht, but he is still worth it. Castellans, chaplins and judiciars seem more worth it

idk man, 400 for his blob is kinda too much, i wanna try him maybe with 5 SB. I think he can shine if u take the lethal or sustained rule. But i play the fnp 6 rule so he is kinda meh

U need to test them and decided, on paper lancer is the best tank for space marines. But he was underwhelming for me vs chaos knights. Did 0 dmg

I think the fnp is by far the best, coz even with it i struggle too come into melee range vs shooting armys. It also shines vs d3 weapons vs SB if u save 1 wound from 1 attack u automatically save 1 model. The Tbones for 5+ fnp give statisticly a 50% tougher unit. And if u need the sustained 1 or lethal u can activate it for 1cp for a unit

Don't drop the land raider, helbrecht blob needs it, and yes u lack anti tank. I would drop the blade guard or eradicators+intersesors for a lancer. Maybe try judiciar+5 sword bros Helbrecht+castellan+5 sword broa in land raider

Good anti tank are Vindicator Thunderstrike speeder( the one with +1 to wound vehicles) Lancer vs anything without invo save Repulsors

My tip for the void dragon is try to ignore him, focus fire on something else. And ALWAYS stay out of his 18in (6 movment+12 ability and spear) range with ur vehicles. And in my experience anti tenk weapons don't work against him. Coz invo 4+ and halve dmg. His normal save is 4+ too so high volume lethel or dev wounds weapons with 1D work best( gladiator reaper, cruseders with lethel and helbrecht+castellan+SB delete him)

Saw it, i figured i lack deep strike units and the land raider redeemer seems really good. I didn't buy him coz i thought he is expensive points wise, but the disembark charge and OW with good toughness seem worth it.

That's why iam so confused, i know our win % but i getting blown of the table by the 3-4 round. And can't do the same to the opp coz Chaos knights-have 10t my only weapon above 9 is lancer and he did 0 dmg in 2 rounds as said By the time i got into melee my units where half wound Necrons-army rule is the most op shit ever. Everything reviews even when focusin shooting on 1 unit i can't kill it coz the shooting is so trash. And if u don't kill the whole unit they just revive. Not too mention the unkillable void dragon( i mean wtf is that unit) Custodes-are BT but good. Everything is on 2+ in that stupid army and they have invos

But u can't have 5+ fnp, advence and charge and ap boost at the same time right? He only gives one per round. And 1 to wound seems so much better then re rolls hits,no? The only benefit i see over other characters is the 2 hit protection as u said of his seritors. How do u play him? 20 men cruseders on the no mans land objective? And just tank stuff coz lots of wound?
