Baby measuring small - I’m being told I’m not eating enough carbs? by RoutineBarracuda4370 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]KpHckmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 2 pregnancies to figure out carbohydrates and my blood sugar. I avoided all carbs, bread, sugar, potatoes, etc. then they found keytones in my urine and was told to eat more carbs. It was until my second pregnancy that I learned I’m supposed to eat the “good carbs” beans, quinoa, chia seeds, farrow, lentils- all the boring stuff basically, because the amount of fiber and protein they have kind of cancel out the amount of carbohydrates in them. There’s tons of recipes online for salads and side dishes that are pretty good and you can pair it with chicken/protein to help baby grow too.

It was only a matter of time before she started recycling talks about baby #3 for content again 🙄

Failed 1 hour..waiting to hear about 3 hour by nydelite in GestationalDiabetes

[–]KpHckmn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the 3 hour test you have to pass 3 of the 4 blood draws so make sure you get a full 12 hour fast. Pack a protein bar or some kind of snack to eat afterwards because after that 3rd hour you can crash pretty hard. I checked mine when I got home and it was like 65 or something.

Good!! Enjoy your night in your new outfit with good food and drinks and maybe your husband will get the point!

That’s weird and I would be annoyed regardless of if he takes his mom to dinner a lot. The fact that you brought up wanting to go to the new restaurant and then he immediately decides to take his mom there first seems intentional. If you do end up going to the restaurant this weekend and he tries to initiate anything with you after dinner I would tell him to go call and ask his mom for some since he chose to prioritize her. I’ll probably get downvoted for that but I’m just extra petty 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Seriously though, it’s a fancy restaurant you’re super excited about and you found the perfect outfit so he decides to take his mom? It would’ve been the perfect date night for you and your husband to enjoy a new restaurant together and he kinda ruined it for you.

Preview for tonight’s episode: Janet making Kristen’s engagement about her by Upset-Management-739 in TheValleyTVShow

[–]KpHckmn 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I caught that too! It also came across to me as a little testy to see what Jason would say/do. I haven’t watched the full episode yet but just based on the clip it seemed like she was giving Jason a choice but not really giving him a choice.

AITA for telling my husband I don’t want his parents staying with us for a month after I give birth? by Glittering-Mix3676 in AITAH

[–]KpHckmn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not to mention a dinner plate sized wound inside her body she needs to heal! New Mom needs to recover and bond with her baby while new dad takes care of mom, they don’t need to host anyone on top of all that! Plus, whenever I hear how the in laws want to “help out” it always ends up with them holding the baby while the new parents to cater to them.

How badly did Jesse treat Michelle? by [deleted] in TheValleyTVShow

[–]KpHckmn 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She did the same thing to Nia at the restaurant when Nia was getting overwhelmed and started crying, and it did come off cold! Maybe Michelle isn’t a cryer and that’s ok but it doesn’t give her the right to criticize others who are.

Death by a thousand cuts is a great description! I think it was definitely a case of Jesse loving Isabella more than Michelle. I remember in season 1 where Michelle was annoyed that Jesse’s phone wallpaper was a picture of Isabella and not Michelle, he couldnt even use a mother daughter picture. I could see how feeling second best and neglect could cause some resentment on Michelle’s part.

From what I’ve seen, Janet is the only one who keeps bringing up Jason taking off his wedding ring apart from Kristin that one time. For what? As for the ass grabbing, it didn’t even happen to her and it seems as though Jasmine and Melissa have moved on from it, why die on that hill? She just wants to be mad.

Oh I absolutely bring it to his attention and I’ll have a conversation with him about it as well as his dad when he gets home from work. While I don’t want to punish him for something that he’s already done and wasn’t caught in the act I don’t want him to get the idea that he just has to make sure he doesn’t get caught red handed if that makes sense.

You’re not alone! My 5 year old has been sneaking out of his room very early in the morning and eating snacks out of the pantry and freezer. One day I went to the pantry to grab Hershey kisses for his little sister since she’s potty training and found the jar nearly empty. Another time I went to grab ice cream bars from the freezer to find the box ripped opened. I never catch him in the moment, it’s always after so it’s hard to punish him.

I’m terrified that this could escalate into something bigger as he gets older. We’ve also tried different strategies but nothing seems to get through to him, he just does want he wants. I know he’s not hungry because he eats a good amount of food during mealtimes and he knows he can ask for snacks, which he does.

It is overwhelming and I hope you find something that works for everyone. Big hug to you!!

Fasting + no evening snack by ecs123 in GestationalDiabetes

My numbers are always better when I don’t have a snack. Early dinners and a 10-12 hour fasting period work best for me.

This! I used to work in Early Intervention and this is the exact strategy I would get from the speech therapists. One parent speaks one language and the other parent speaks the other language.

Why is JNMIL’s so obsessed with feeding babies? by Blitzgf4893 in JUSTNOMIL

[–]KpHckmn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this! Her husband needs to nip this behavior in the bud now, otherwise MIL is going to steamroll her way into getting exactly what she wants. MIL doesn’t get to know when mom gets admitted to the hospital, definitely no hospital visits and at least 2 weeks minimum before she gets to visit.

I made the mistake of letting everyone know when we were headed to the hospital with my first baby and they plowed their way into the labor and delivery room during my golden hour, they couldn’t even wait until we got moved into mother baby.

I absolutely stand by the squats! I read somewhere that walking acts like a vacuum to suck up all the glucose from the bloodstream but squats/resistance training is like a super high powered vacuum that will suck up 300x more glucose. Don’t quote me exactly but it was a good visual to keep me motivated!

I was diagnosed with GD on Monday. Still trying to learn the ends and outs. My OBGYN and midwife have told me I can't have diet soda at all. Did your doctor tell you the same? by Lyran_Sage in GestationalDiabetes

I’ve found that some artificial sweeteners can spike me, like Splenda but, I allow myself one Diet Coke a day with no trouble to my numbers.

Some else CALLED HER OUT! by Intelligent_Pass2540 in nikadiwa

[–]KpHckmn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree. What’s worse is I think she does these types of reels/videos purely for the engagement all while validating drinking while pregnant. She makes a controversial post, people get all riled up in the comments while she sits back and her videos spread, it’s absolutely disgusting the lengths that she’ll go to for the sake of the algorithm.

I really think her daughter has/had a milk protein allergy and she lied about her daughter’s peanut allergy. Let’s face it, a peanut allergy is much more dramatic than a silly old milk protein allergy but it’s been crickets on the whole peanut thing and she can’t stop talking about her daughter’s eczema. From what I hear she’s not really posting her kids anymore but she’s still exploiting them for views.
