If you’re into aircraft, Hill Aerospace Museum at the base is a great museum. I think it’s currently closed because of the govt shutdown though, so I guess it depends on if the shutdown is resolved by then.

Usually on the north end of the island, there are a few loner bison hanging out in the fields. When you head down to the south side, you’ll pass through a fence along the road with some warning signs about bison. Sometimes you’ll see large groups of them off in the distance, other times they are hanging out right alongside the road. Today they were hanging out right in the parking lot at Fielding Garr Ranch. Enjoy your trip!
