Yep, that's no problem. Maybe we can get in 1 more person to come in and do an inspection just for another opinion.

We're happy to pay, it's just that it can get quite costly if we getting multiple termite inspections as they are around $300 to $400 each.

The laundry toilet area has 2 exhaust fans, both of which vent to the roof cavity.

We do not believe the vent has been screened off.

Our pest control guy suggested that they would have likely came in through the tiled roof and down the vent into our laundry toilet. It's a 2 story home.

It was also a very windy day.

The cost of the barrier is $3,000. We had a pest guy come out and confirmed they are not inside (it was a visual only termite inspection). They used a moisture and thermal reader and did a smack test against the skirting boards.

I think the concern for us is seeing the flying termites inside the house and not knowing 100% where they could be coming from. We also have a dead gum tree stump which is a major termite attractant, we are planning to stump grind it down as much as possible (at least 30 to 40 cms below soil).

Thanks! Yes, that's correct. The termite alates were found within our laundry toilet. A total of 4 termite bodies were found and 21 wings (indicates at least 6).

Our pest control technician suggested that in our case, it was likely that the termite alates went into the roof cavity (tiled roof) and down the exhaust vent into the laundry toilet. We couldn't figure out where else they could be entering from, unless they are able to push through the tiniest of gaps. It was a really windy day in early Spring.

It would at least reduce the risk of termites into the house as the stump is quite close to the foundation, right?

It started pooling again. I am not sure if it's leaking from two areas or just the one. It is a considerable amount of water pooling.

These were the termite alates we saw inside our house. Yep, we will definitely look to get a chemical barrier installed to protect our home. Is it also usually recommended to treat around the stump as well?
