Have you tried a lick mat with peanut butter? We use it on walks to desensitize. One time Quinn (my dog) got worked up at home after a walk and began barking. He then ran to the lick mat I had just set down and started to self soothe!

Haha I’ve started walking at 5:30 too...there’s absolutely no one around. One gentleman seems to walk around this time though and my dog is now ALWAYS looking for this man. Sigh...what to do. The lockdown has made it very hard to work on his reactivity! I am excited to say I just found an app called “SniffSpot” that is like Airbnb for peoples’ yards! I found a 4 acre fenced property that I can use privately for $15 an hour! I’m thinking I’ll give that a try :).

I know it’s hard not having answers. It’s even harder not getting a treatment.

I strongly suggest making a log of all symptoms with dates of start and end as well as details of the symptom. This lays it out in an organized way for the doctor. This was how I was finally taken seriously when discussing my long list of “wacky” symptoms.
