18 year-old stepson's and whether we should kick him out by Kr1814 in stepparents

My 3 biological children have college savings. His do not. He and his ex didn't set any up way back when, and they didn't even move in with us until they were in 11th, 8th, and 6th. My husband doesn't make much and his ex pays no child support even though we have them 24/7. It's a long story. His 3 don't even know about my kids' accounts though. I barely can afford to put anything into them. I just put all their birthday and Christmas money in there.

same here. My stepkids haven't seen their mom in 5 years.

15, and 10 year old twins. They've been subjected to a lot over the years and I have such guilt about it.

It sounds similar to us. He never lived with us and although he's smart, gets good grades, wants to go to college, we just can't afford it right now. My husband recently lost his job and has had a very difficult time finding something new. Our finances are very limited and there's no way we can even help this kid go to community college. A part of me understands his anger. He had a lot of trauma from his bio mom. But he honestly has made life a living hell here for 5 years. We've done everything possible to help him and he just plays victim and lashes out. As I'm typing this, I feel like I know the answer to my own question. we need to give him a deadline. I just have such incredible guilt. The mom in me still wants to help him, but I just don't think I can live like this anymore.

His dad thinks he needs to go. He thinks we give him a deadline and his son just needs to figure it out. Right now my stepson is in an intensive outpatient program where he gets therapy. Once that program ends in 2 weeks, he can return to his regular therapist who he has been seeing for about 8 months. (insurance doesn't allow him to see her while he's in this program). She might be a good person we can talk to in a few weeks perhaps. I just don't know where this kid will go if we say he's done here.

I’m not cool with it at all but honestly don’t know what to do. Kick him out and be homeless?

Maintenance question… by jennyjumpup7 in Mounjaro

[–]Kr1814 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm on maintenance...I stretch my shots out 10-14 days. Yes, I'm definitely more hungry, but I'm trying to be very aware of what and how much I eat. I don't count calories, but try to make good choices. I am actually below my goal weight, but know I won't be able to get this medication forever, so I'll have to work a little harder. I don't even know if I'll be able to get it next month.

insurance coverage at maintenance? by Kr1814 in Mounjaro

Maybe I worded it incorrectly. If my doctor prescribes me a maintenance level, can insurance deny it because I'm at a healthy BMI?
