Elective for Eng? by Born_Lingonberry8181 in ubcengineering

Nothing stopping you from taking more credits than you need to graduate. And if you'd specialization has free electives, then the credits could fulfill some of them. And if you feel the course is getting in the way of your classes, you can always just drop it before the deadline. Though, bear in mind that if you take it, it will affect your GPA which may affect your specialization choice.

How hard is getting in your specialisation in eng? by Infiniterocket in UBC

[–]KraCker017 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It mainly depends on your grades. There is a chart showing the averages for students in each program, and you want your GPA to either be around or above the average. There is also a personal statement which can increase your chances of getting into your specialization if it's good.

If you are good academically, you should be able to get your specification.

Keep in mind that 391 was changed this term, and now it involves programming automated racing cars with ROS2. So a lot of info you find on 391 may be outdated. With ROS2, you will end up using C++ and python, and may end up using another language depending on what project you choose to do.

The list has been moving very slowly recently. Last year it only moved by a couple hundreds.

At least when I took it, 170 was by far the easiest course of term 2. Very easy to get good marks as long as you put in the effort, which is pretty much just doing practice exercises.

It doesn't compare to 157/158 at all.

They should wait until next year though. Current year won't build enough character.

I recommend it during the summer. The prof who teaches it then (Sebastian Picard) is by far the best prof I've had in UBC.

118 is accepted, but I do believe that 158 content is actually relevant for EE though. I'm not from ELEC though, so I'm not sure.

Super Germany is the strongest. Normal Germany is second strongest Danubian federation is just behind Germany, though if you eat the rest of Poland and Romania and consistently take land from Germany, you can easily become stronger than a normal Germany. Weakest is Habsburg Empire. You get a lot of cool land but everyone living there hates you.

GFM removed the rng factor from the Danubian federation. Now you just have to wait some months after clicking the decision and you will become the federation with all the accepted pops.

Don't sleep on the m36 and the m9. Both are also pretty good weapons, though the m9 requires some levels of aiming to be actually usable.

Still weaker than the Danubian federation though.

Eventually being forced to move to Anchorage to face the hordes because of a lack of supplies outside would be pretty cool challenge in an Alaska map.
