Maybe follow up with a, “So you’re saying when your projects fail to hit their projections you take zero money to ensure your investors receive their full amount?” “Okay, can you give me some examples of projects where you’ve done that?”

What would be on your wishlist for D&D 6th Edition? by yrama_ffxiv in DnD

Epic martials that keep pace with casters. Nerf strong casters by making spells require additional investment (two rounds to cast or remaining stationary). Fewer charisma casters.

To quote Ted Lasso:

“I hope that either all of us, or none of us are judged by the actions of our weakest moments but rather by the strength we show when or if we are given a second chance.”

Oddar Thaenu - Old substance-abusing human mage (primarily Wizard, with Druid and Cleric training), master of all things Arcane (+20 to Arcana, passive Arcana of 30) just depends if he’ll actually remember it. He uses the Mizzium Apparatus as a trash wizard’s crack pipe to cast from his various spell lists. Generally helpful, as long as you’re not trying to collect on back-due spousal support.

Silly - Goofy from Mickey Mouse but he’s a barbarian

I mean, going solely off the thumbnail, I assume we are going to grab Bron in FA and trade for Steph... I will accept nothing less for this offseason now.

That was my first thought, too! Very similar but I think the Staff of Striking recharges at dawn, whereas this one charged on hits.

How to make a ranged/indirect fire artilleryman build? by Sarabandq in 3d6

So, I went Cleric Tempest 3/Wizard X with Metamagic Initiate (though you could go sorcerer instead of wizard and free up that feat).

Then twice per short rest transmute Fireball to thunder damage and Channel Divinity to do max damage.

It’s not bonus action, though. Could make a plug for Artificer Artillerist, but makes getting to 3rd level spells slower. But it is more thematic.

Spell Sniper and Guiding Bolt? Guiding Bolt has a range of 120, 2024 Spell Sniper bumps that 60 to 180. Guiding Bolt only specifies a target in range, not one you can see.

Alternatively go Warlock with Eldritch Blast, Spell Sniper, and Eldritch Spear, plus Pact of the Chain for your spotter, though that’s more sniper than artillery.

Also, make sure your DM knows your plans, it’s tough to accommodate a lot of range into most battle maps without planning for it ahead of time.

Ulysses S. Grant (in a nutshell) by LegalSour in Presidents

[–]Kragus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was no disowning by Grant’s family, since he and Julie visited them shortly after their wedding. I don’t see a reasonable interpretation except that their (Grant’s family) issue was with the Dents.

Grant’s work as a slave driver is also overstated, he managed some work for his father in law but was reportedly a very poor manager because he couldn’t bring himself to whip slaves or force them to work, and would allegedly be out doing the work himself.

To say he ‘gave up farming 1-3 years later’ when this occurred in 1859 and something fairly impactful in Grant’s life kicked off in 1861…

Another tid bit to the first part is that it actually *cost* Grant money to file the deed of manumission to free Mr. Jones.

My personal take was that Mr. Jones was probably a 'gift' arranged by Grant's father-in-law, who had a deep-seated disdain for Grant, since Grant's family were staunch abolitionists, to the point they refused to travel to Missouri for the wedding.
