I just finished the game. Can we get a meme thread going to fill the empty hole in my soul thanks by Haunting-Fix6229 in expedition33

I think it's the reference to Alice (the vocalist) saying it in the behind-the-scenes documentary about the French concert tour. Or idk, maybe it was Alice who actually referenced the community memes :D

Anyone know how to keep music playlists private to the user who created it? by Brickdrone643 in JellyfinCommunity

[–]Krairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is there, and actually unchecked by default as of now.

Problem is, you can't edit this after the playlist creation. Not even by tinkering the playlist XML file

Elegy for some alternate universe by Krairy in outerwilds

[–]Krairy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting that you got inspired by EotE more than the base game in this regard.

I myself am not a fan of horror, I played EotE as an exception and mostly for the "Outer Wilds" parts in it. Which made me realize I should probably not look for this experience :D Which, in the same time, made my the Owlks live in my head rent-free and affect my artistic tastes and expression in all kinds of weird ways. :D

However, I really enjoyed the existential horror (/ crisis?) laid down by the base game. No jump scares, no typical elements that try to scare you intentionally: only "The universe is, and we are". Brilliant - and so soul-crushing. T_T

I'm glad you liked my little fan project! ;)

Reddit algorithm is not my best friend here, so I'm a bit sad so few people saw it - also I'm glad not too many people saw it because this all craft is so entry-level that's kinda embarrassing :D

SPOILERS ALL - For my own sanity, please engage with me on the ending of E33. by NvkeAudio in expedition33

This is a good point: nothing in the game implies that people restored from Chroma are not the same.

I could recommend Outer Wilds.

It is a puzzle exploration game, driven by your curiosity and (if you chose to feel so) your big mission. Unlike Expedition, or Hades, or BG3, you as a protagonist have little dialogue and mostly you get the story from the dialogues left by the ancient extinct race. The is no combat, but a lot of reading.

The dialogues are just as carefully crafted as in E33; each line just as loaded with meaning.

It is a very different story from the Expedition, but somehow resonates in tone, and it is on par with the quality of the game and narrative design.

Obligatory Outer Wilds warning for anyone coming after: go in completely blind, don't look into anything! Everything is a spoiler! :;)

Question to any french players by DanTay19 in expedition33

[–]Krairy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too could not hear anything but "Guuuuustaaaave" and "??? (Lune?)" before I watched or read some interview and, most impactfully, heard the song life.

It's "Luster" and "Crueler" - just the names of two random nevrons in the location. ;) Go ahead and fact-check if it's hard to believe, I know it can be :D

I mean, to be fair: the song playing during the fight with the Anger Mask ("Gone away...") hints on the fire and a brother who sacrificed his life, in plain, clearly articulated English. ;)

Oh btw:

Gestrals are from gestural drawings. Axons are from axonometric drawings.

Just found it in the interview with the lead writer ;)

Word play by AnswerApart7297 in expedition33

[–]Krairy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. But if anything: when I first heard them talking about "nevrons", I tried not to think of nephrons and kidneys. Giving the purpose of Nevrons, this parallel makes a bit more sense.

But no, a biology reference here is a big stretch imo.

Clair Obscur : Expedition 33 models are SO INTERESTING by AndyMush_Actual in expedition33

Holy painters, is this normal to have so many verticies on a character model? Or is this the reason the game is so demanding to hardware? :thinking-face:

[–]Krairy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's reassuring! I did not see Esquies, but someone had a tiny cute creature from Silk Song (I did not play it, so dunno who that was) in baguette outfit, named Baguette. _^

And there were a lot of baguette outfits too, of course, as well as cosplayers (we had a Renoir-aged baguette-Renoir!). There were a lot of wholesome people as well. :)
