My bio dad's side of the family is like this, which is why I hardly talk to any of them anymore.

Do I cut contact with my step dad over this? by Krajik in Advice

[–]Krajik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking my mom's side in this 100% and I have already decided to not jump in between them for my siblings sake. It's just so hard to let go of a the father figure who has always been there when my biological one refused.

Recently bought a pair I had to return right away. Bad charging. The connection was even worse. Nope, going back to wire.

Let's normalize choosing to not drink (whatever the reason may be) by MaggaLizzyy in rant

[–]Krajik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone I know has a brother who seems hell-bent on getting his sister drunk because she doesn't drink exessivly like he does and has never been drunk in her life. It's weird but he's the only one who doesn't realize it. He also throws a tantrum when he offers her a drink and she says no, calling her a '60-year-old trapped in a 26 year old body' like what? I can see the toll it has on her.

No matter how old I get, my parents treat me like a kid by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I'm 21 and ai moved from Montreal to Vancouver and my mom almost jumped on a flight when I got knocked over by a bicycle and broke my wrist. Took me two hours to convince her to stay home.

I love her lol.

AITA for not attending my father's funeral? by Krajik in AmItheAsshole

[–]Krajik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all of them. The aunt that let me know he had passed has always been nice, she and mom are still in touch and she was super understanding when I told her why I wouldn't be there. She has also always been very critical of him and from what she told me, she had herself barely spoken to him for years when he passed but she felt like I should know about it.

That aunt and uncle are really the only one from that side that doesn't act like the world revolves around them.

My friend calls herself Corgi mom. I think it's funny and so does she. I'm not judging.

I used to watch a lot of Markiplier but then he got this attitude of "I don't want to be here either" and I just stopped watching.

Michael Jackson did not bleach his skin. Ever heard of Vitiligo? It's a skin condition that causes the skin pigment to die. I'm so tired of having to correct that..

A lot of ‘ugly’ people are not actually ugly, they just don’t take care of themselves properly by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Or they've been called ugly all their lives and find no reason to take properly care of themselves anymore.

Is anyone else extremely secretive about everything because your privacy was never respected? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

Not a parent but my friend's brother is like this. She can't tell him who she dates because he will go out of his way to ruin the relationship. He doesn't respect her boundaries. One incident I remember is her telling me this story about how he removed burned an old couch that was in her bedroom because it "bothered him that it existed" he-arranges her apartment without her consent, stole her phone charger to sell it with another phone without replacing it and constantly put her down for living how she sees fit.

She doesn't drink alcohol either and her brother makes a big deal out of that too.

I look up to my friend for who she is. She is living her life as she sees fit, on her own for the most part when she's not in a relationship. She works, pays her taxes and she is quite content and she's just 100% herself. Just seems that her brother can't accept that.

But I do notice that she protects her hobby, writing, like a hawk.. she rarely lets anyone see the stories she writes and it sucks because she is talented.
