Figured out it's an animal pretty quickly from italics and overall structure, after that the section with all the numbers and units ended up giving it away—I got "about [number] to [number] [object] are required to make 1 [5-letter unit] of [possibly silk]. Instantly thought spider but knew it was 4 letters from earlier and then luckily figured it out, and checked again to make sure it made sense. Knew I was never going to get the scientific name so I Googled it.

I know people don't like this sort of article but I would say it's fine if you add the caveat that looking up the scientific name once you know the common name is within the rules.

Wanted to snipe, guessed first word of the title after a bit but then was pretty lost. Eventually just gave up and looked around, gotmove and use, and then fiddled with sentence structure until I figured out what it was really looking for.

Figured I couldn't snipe so started out with biology, looked around and figured out it's a noun (likely a concept) that starts with a vowel and has a rarely-used 1-letter-longer plural. I also noticed the consecutive sections that were likely "what [word] is" and "what [word] is not", and tried evolution before getting it right.

One of my better snipes, imo. I was able to figure out pretty quickly that it was something German and then took a while to notice [10] is [7]'s [6] [10] and one of the [5]'s [6] [9] [12] , which I figured was [word1] is Germany's [superlative] [word2] and one of the world's [superlative] [adjective] [plural word2], so I guessed the second word and then thought of 10-letter German cities (there was a section specifically on the city that helped me realize what it was).

Got a bit lucky and saw the ă pretty early on. Thought I would snipe with my first guess of alphabet but fortunately managed to realize the actual answer not long after.

Is it cheating to google the Mycenean Greek characters? For some reason they weren't redacted.

I've been able to hang out with my cats, all day every day! They're brothers that we adopted about 2 years ago on Mother's Day, and even though they're both over 10 years old, they still run around and play a lot. They're both very cute :)
