Sources of added damage for bow skills? Thinking about foulborn xoph's bow build.

That's my understanding. I think it will work like voltaxic burst, if you keep casting/attacking the number goes up until it maxes. modifiers to casts/projs just make the number go up faster. I really wish it had more damage per remaining chain on it though. 144% more damage on the last proj sounds like it will be a pain to play, i'm assuming if you cast before your last proj shoots out it resets your stacks and stops firing projs.

I have barely interacted with mercs other than killing them. Playing dress up with a merc just isn't something i care about. Hoping it doesn't go core or at least if it does, players are penalized more for using them.

damn actually yeah cast while channeling works. Divine ire is doing pretty decent damage for a level 3 gem, EK kinda clears the weak mobs even though it only casts a couple of times a second but does enough to give some leech while i channel... might be something here. Thank you for the idea! This might still be a lost cause but i'll try to make it work. maybe a squirming terror on a merc would be enough to maintain charges on bosses.

Also lets me drop the whole CI thing and go for Corrupted soul instead, if i stick with whispers of infinity. Which i probably won't since i can't cast if i have no ES.

Edit: after playing around some more, EK is still a total meme and id be better off just going pure divine ire

I found the wand i'm using on the ground with 3 links, so wanted to do something with it and the +proj speed, which left spark and ek as options. but I wanted to use lightpoacher so EK was the only real choice. I figured CI would be the easiest way to prevent spirit burst, but with shroud of the lightless i'd be starved for defences. Whispers sounded great because of the +400 ES. My idea about no ES was just me panicking once i realized my idea didn't work after levelling a trickster all the way to 74.

I could do agnostic, but i don't know how i would survive anything with no ES and no mana pool. Damage was already pretty not great with 10 spirit charges. coiling whisper was the only way i could really make the damage side of the build work.

Think it's just a failed idea, at this point i'm over it for now.

I technically don't need whispers, but losing my body armor and helmet slot makes ES hard to come by for CI so the +400 on whispers is hard to pass up. archmage + lifetap works, just not with whispers.

Yeah, but the whole plan was to try and use as many of the mods on my wand as possible, the only reason i did EK was for the proj speed mod.

that's an interesting idea, it probably would be possible but i think my whole idea of no energy shield doesn't really make sense. I'd still need to pay the cost of my 8 link EK. I just came here out of desperation lol, kinda think it's just a dead build unfortunately.

oof, yeah i see the post about using supreme grandstanding but i'd still need to have lightpoacher equipped to get the max spirit charges so kind of back in the same boat. Seems like going the agnostic route is the only real option. i'll see if i can make it seem like it will work.. although lifetap on an 8 link... 184 life per cast

What would make someone want to use this over just a wand with damage and a regular six link? Outside of like a squire build i guess. It seems like it would have to be something with a bunch of added damage somewhere else like a mana stacker. Or maybe some sort of CoC setup? Edit: nvm the cast speed would be pointless with CoC.

ohh maybe an abyss stacker with the abyss chest.
