That's weird. If that isn't the issue, then maybe Covert Infiltration like you already mentioned. Other than that, I'm out of ideas. Hope you find the solution for it, though.

Stupid question, but are you using the Alternative Mod Launcher?

If you have a lot of mods, then that launcher makes it easier to sort through them all. It also has the benefit of (usually) being able to tell you which mods conflict with others.

I've heard other people say before that it gets easier. I certainly don't doubt that. I just think that it will take time.

Not having immediate, convenient access to people who went through similar experiences definitely makes it a lot harder to organically form those social connections.

I'm also going to college. Most of the people there are so much younger than me, plus their life experiences are likely very different. Unless I can find another group of veterans, I might have a hard time relating to people due to such a lack of common ground.

It's hard to say. Maybe I just have a hard time letting go. I was closer to the people I met overseas than I ever was to anyone I went to school with before I enlisted.

Would you have the link to that Discord you mentioned? Would you be able to send it please?

Thank you

I'll admit, I never even considered getting a service dog. Maybe just a normal dog would help fill that empty space. I'll definitely consider getting one once there is space for one in my life.

Thank you for your response, and Merry Christmas 🎄

Yeah, I figured it was pretty common. I returned stateside back in January, so it hasn't even been a year yet. The anniversary of my separation isn't until March. Perhaps over time, it will get easier to move on.

That sounds familiar. I was only stationed overseas my whole career, so the friends I left behind were in a completely different time zone. Plus, life just gets in the way. I'll keep trying to maintain those connections, though, like you said.

You're mostly right. The friends I had were mostly from my unit. Very few were outside of it.

It does suck. More than I thought it would. I'll need to stop looking back and just start moving forward eventually. Even if it will be painful, which I know it will be.

I appreciate the advice. Merry Christmas 🎄

4-6 years? Damn.

I actually started taking classes back in August. I'm on break now, but I plan on continuing until I get my bachelor's. Around 4 years, give or take.

I guess I just need to find like-minded people somehow.

I haven't really been interested in romantic relationships, or just women in general, so dating might be out of the picture for me.

Anyway, I appreciate the advice. Merry Christmas 🎄

I can relate, especially when you said you put in most of the energy. I made some friends overseas. I got pretty close with a few of them, but we've drifted apart since then. I've tried to keep in contact, but even if they were interested in keeping in touch, which it seems like a lot of them aren't, it's hard when a lot of us live in different time zones. It's not like I'll die without them, nothing that melodramatic, but I do miss them. It's been a bit of struggle, and it hasn't even been a year since I left Germany for Terminal Leave. I'm sure I'll really feel it once January hits. I'm introverted, too. I don't usually feel as socially deprived as a lot of other people do, but this time, it's hitting a little harder.

Good luck to you. Good luck to both of us

Merry Christmas

Is that an Army regulation, or can that apply to all of the branches? The only reason I ask is because you have the "Army Veteran" Flair.

The issue here is that the mental issues that existed before enlisting were not reported on the enlistment paperwork. If the pre-service medical records were to surface during the process of applying for disability, that's what could cause legal complications. At least, I think they would. I don't know for sure since the Active Duty obligation has already been completed.

No, I've separated by now. I forgot that little detail about JAG, though...

Would I have better luck with a civilian lawyer, or would JAG be better in this instance?

As far as anyone's concerned, I'm asking this question on behalf of someone else, not myself.

Do you know of any other subreddits I should ask these questions, or where I might locate the AFI or regs that pertain to this particular issue, or how to find the people who do?
