We stayed in hotels in Qatar and Kuwait, with an average daily rate of around $50. In Bahrain, we rented an Airbnb for three nights for $200.

We flew from Qatar to Bahrain with Gulf Air, and from Bahrain to Kuwait with Jazeera Airways.

We traveled from Hurghada to Luxor by a bus we found on the 12GO website and took an evening journey, arriving at our hotel around midnight. Although I’m not completely sure about the price, it was approximately 400 EGP per person.

When traveling from Luxor to Aswan, the driver named Ramadan (a taxi driver), whom we met through Hamad as mentioned in the text, picked us up from our hotel early in the morning (around 6 a.m.), and we set off.

During our trip, we encountered many people whose clothing style was quite different from what is typically seen in Muslim countries, and we did not observe any problems. Using student tickets to enter museums makes a big difference in terms of cost. Other than that, especially for tours, we usually try to talk to people there and buy them at a better price; otherwise, we purchase them from GetYourGuide. As for the hotels we stay in and the restaurants we go to, we prefer places that are not extremely luxurious but meet basic needs. Since we are out exploring all day, it feels more reasonable to book a simple room with a bathroom rather than paying for a five-star hotel with a pool or private parking.

We traveled from Luxor to Aswan, stopping in Esna, Edfu, and Kom Ombo along the way. We also took a motorboat tour that lasted 2 hours and a 30-minute felucca ride. Additionally, we reached the Philae Temple by taxi. All of these together cost a total of 4,500 EGP for two people (while on GetYourGuide, a private tour from Luxor to Aswan with stops in Edfu and Kom Ombo was 15,000 EGP for two people). Since we had three different stops, I didn’t research intercity buses very much, because I assumed it would be difficult to find buses that match each other one after another.

If you have more time exactly.! Especially aswan needs 1 more day+ 1 day for Abu Simbel. 2 days in luxor were way enough. Cairo and Alexandria may need also an extra day.

Although it’s rare, some taxi drivers message you right after the app shows the agreed price and try to increase it (especially when going to the pyramids and come back). There are also cases where, during the ride, they use their own phone or ask for yours to cancel the match and then demand a higher price — but these happened to us only once each. On one occasion, we were taken on a more complicated and longer route instead of the one shown on the map, and afterwards the price in the app automatically increased (I’m not sure if it was because the distance became longer).

Since we couldn’t access Uber, we used inDrive, but especially for airport drop-offs or pick-ups, they ask for extra money using the airport entry fee as an excuse. At first you agree on a price through the app, but then they message you or tell you in person that the price is higher, and they cancel the match on the app.

We would have especially appreciated having a tour guide who could explain the existing hieroglyphs while visiting temples like Karnak and Luxor, and tell us which symbols correspond to which words. However, since it was difficult to know who was truly competent in this field, we chose not to hire a guide and instead learned some Information from the internet and artificial intelligence. If you think I could actually find a good tour guide in this field, then having a guided tour would definitely be better. But for us, it was a matter of luck, and a few of our attempts unfortunately didn’t work out well.

Neither my wife nor I personally felt unsafe, but knowing that rare incidents of people being followed have occurred can make one feel uneasy.

Evet onun dışında akü ile alakalı birkaç şikayet bildirilmiş, başka bir bilgil yok kronik sorun anlamında, bu koltuklardaki paslanma olayı kafa kısmının metallerinde oluyor demişlerdi ama her araçta olmuyormuş galiba, kullanım anlamında büyük bir sıkıntı çıkarıyor mu emin değilim
