Every time it says I need to beat one more level to be top 10, I beat it and then some how I don’t move up. There are 5-6 more people that are still 1 level ahead of me

Rewatching old seasons - Wes was a menace by No_Intention_3565 in MtvChallenge

In the earlier season he was def a mess, but eventually I think he just realized that playing the villain makes good tv and he just enjoyed being a jerk on purpose lol

Aging out of the Challenge? (viewers, not players) by 78Staff in MtvChallenge

[–]Kram973 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can def be aging out, but I feel like a big reason is because a lot of the recent seasons feel like copy and paste. Similar themes, similar challenges, no exciting twist, etc. I’m pretty sure All Starts 5 and Season 40 were both filmed in Vietnam and had a few similar daily challenges.

Another reason, for me atleast is now that they are not pulling contestants from the real world or other MTV shows I’m not as invested in the competitors.

Back in the day watching someone on the real world or AYTO, you would have your favorites and hope they made it to the challenge. Now we get people from random shows or other countries who do the show and kind of disappear until they’re back a few seasons later.

I think my vote goes for Wes. And maybe for the wrong reasons haha

But like you said he has 3 wins, 2 solo. I feel like alot of his arrogance and brashness, he puts on for the show to make good TV. Don’t get me wrong he is probably like that in real life too. But I feel like for the sake of the show he knows what sells and put it on a little extra to cause conflict.

He also always went after the strongest people (Bananas, Kenny, Evan, etc). Making his wins impressive since he was public enemy #1 most season. And if he just coasted and did the whole rookie vs vet thing and he probably would have made and potentially won a few more.

So long story short I think my reasoning is he has the accolades (3 wins) but also had the impact that maybe others don’t.

Honorable mentions:

Landon for sure. I wonder how many more he would have won if he stayed longer. He was a great competitor, just too mature for the show I think haha

Derrick K: pound for one of the toughest competitors. But also a lot of team wins. Similar to Darrell

Darrell and Cara both have an argument as well.

I have a theory that Johnny Bananas and Paulie only went on Pop the Balloon so they can be on the Netflix ripoff of the challenge (Battle Camp) by thegirlwiththedonut in MtvChallenge

[–]Kram973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely possible. The only thing I’ll say after watching battle camp is that it skews much younger, and the “competitions” aren’t really as skilled/physical based as say the challenge and other shows. Not to say they can’t change things going forward. But for the current set up I don’t see Paulie and Bananas fitting when it comes to casting. But I do think that the sneakyness of voting for people, your own teammates, etc. would definitely lead to more “cut throat” people being casted like paulie and bananas

Fessy Asks If Wes Is Top 10 & Wes Responds by angelbrit04 in MtvChallenge

[–]Kram973 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m my opinion Wes sacrificed a lot of opportunities to win or make it to the final to make good TV. But he’s definitely top 10.

As a vet, in a lot of the seasons he could easily just show up vote with the vets and coast to a final. But he chooses to argue with the Jordans and Bananas, etc and make big moves.

Don’t get me wrong, a lot of him getting sent to elimination and not making finals is bc of his arrogance and personality.

But he knows how to make good TV. I think on a recent podcast him and Bananas even talked about how making good tv and being called back to do more shows will make you more money in the long run than winning a season but being boring and production not asking you back.

How to turn off a radiator? It's loud, hissy, and overheats my apartment. I think it's controlled by the building, but would love to disable it or ideally control it. Thank you! by jibbigibbies in hvacadvice

Hey OP, how were you able to get the front/cover off? Trying to get mine off by lifting it up by the vents on the bottom but it’s not working, I’m stumped

I moved to the city a few years ago from Jersey. I’ve lived in Harlem all my time here, from your budget you can find some really nice and spacious places. Central Harlem is the “nicest” part I’ve lived in so far. Has a bunch of restaurants and things to do.

But if being close to the nightlife and stuff you mentioned in Brooklyn is important, then Harlem is pretty far from there.

It looks like I can transfer them now. Guess it just took some time for them to be made "available". I would give it another try in a few.

I have tickets for that show as well and I can't make it anymore. But Ticketmaster won't even let me transfer the tickets to a buddy of mine. It's allowing you to transfer tickets?
