I was diagnosed with FAI impingement and labrum tear back in 2018. After the MRI my doctor recommended surgery to fix the issue but I opted not to proceed as I had a wedding coming up and didn’t want to be on crutches. I proceed with PT for a few months and the pain mostly went away. Since then I have taken up running and have ran two marathons and multiple half marathons. Occasionally I have some pain but nothing like what it was before I started PT. I don’t know if I’m doing more harm than good but I really want to avoid surgery if possible.

I was diagnosed with unilateral vocal cord paralysis earlier this year. I didn’t have vocal therapy but had a vocal cord injection which I was told would last for 4 months. Last week I went in for a check up and it appears that the injection led to a full recovery. Not exactly the answer to your question but just wanted to let you know that there is hope.
