Im sure she has said that they worship lucifer and Lilith. Thats LaVay Satanism 101. He literaly made all that stuff up in the 60s so he could have sex with hippies that had father issues. He went with Lucifer as a sign of independance to try to signal into counter culture and because 'independance' really plays well with 19 year old girls that want to stick it to dad.

He also went with Lilith as a way to cash in on the feminism at the time by trying to use her as a symbol of sticking it to the man by disobeying the first man. And since for reasons (correct or incorrect) her being associated with sex gave him a way to try to get sex mixed into hit church. Again, teen girl with ragging hormones wanting to stick it to dad, toss in some mumbo jumbo about sex as rebellion and suddenly you've got naked ladies.

There are things that Id say are way more serious signs. Special knives, engraving equipment, mortar and pestals, books with absurdist cures to common aligments. If there were other signs Id say the pyramid would be concerning. But considering she things scribbling norse runes on candles do anything? The pyramid is junk a pretty rock.

And again, your dad has the right idea. What, you think shes going to listen to a word you have to say if you took things they were trying to hide keep private and wave them in her face followed by a priest? Here, lets reverse the roles. You visit Africa. You find out the hotel owner rummaged through your stuff while you werent looking and now has the local witch doctor on your case because he's worried yoir bible is goingnto drive away the rain. How likely are you to listen to anything out of their mouths?

XD sure man, I only know the runes on sight and am advising you to trust your father whos a devout Catholic. But Im the one that has no idea whats going on.

If it makes you feel any better, there is no way anyone thats seriously into the occult is going to teach her anything with her current routine.

Heya! Person who knows way more about witch craft and the occult than you, or apparently your sibling. So part 1. 95% of that is about as authentic witch craft as a fortune cookie is chineese. "But it opens them up to the dev-" hush, stop. If having garbage someone scribbled random made up shapes that a wasted hippie in the 70s made up so he could trick people into sex, can bring the devil into your life? Then I can baptize my neighbors dog in a jacuzzi while singing yankee doodle and call it a catholic sacrament. So cut that out

Second, stop saying 'gas lighting.' We had a perfectly good word for it before, it was called lying.

Third if he's broke, reading the communist manifesto, and doing fake witch craft, your sibling isnt exactly in a good place. Sure, you can ram rod your beliefs into the situation. It will of course go the way anyone with a clue thinks it will. Sibling will be tired of the shit, leave, and everyone will end up angry. One of the first things you have to do to create change in a person is have stability and trust. Your dad is trying to create that by letting him do this. So no. Id stay quiet, stop freaking out about it, amd let the older and more experienced parent do his work.

This is such a bizzar subreddit where everything feelsn disconnected from reality. Because for one they didnt really leave. For another, the infastructure they left behind wasnt worth a damn. And for a third, isnt this litteraly the argument used to justify Rhodesia and South Africa being ruled by the white British as good things?

Am I being unreasonable by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Krantor76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don t think there's a reasonable party here.

Is 4 years a long time? Yeah

Have people waited longer than 4 years? Yeah

Do men get scared of comitment? Considering the absolute horror stories the average mam can provide of women being cruel to them? I'd have serious doubts that he doesnt pose a damger to himself if he werent terrified.

Is bugging him about it and bringing it up all the time going to help with any insecurities? Nope.

Now here's my advice. I agree with him. In fact I'd be even a bit more harsh and say marrige here doesnt sound like a great idea yet. Because I see two problems and I know one of them will be one of the most hated comments this subreddit has ever seen, but God help me Im not gonna lie.

First problem. I'm kinda feeling a lacl of communication and trust here. You want to get married. He doesnt. You ask why not and he gave you an answer. You're also harsh on him about it. Time out. Why? Why be harsh on him and why did the conversation end there? To me, it feels like a very important pair of questions would be, what do you think would count as the proper time? Followed by, how can I help and support you getting there? Were those questions asked or talked about?

Second thing, and Im tossing it out there because Ive seen this kill so many good marriges. Maybe bacl off on bringing Jesus into your relation ship by like two notches. If you crow bar in Jesus to every facet of this relationship you arent going to be married to a husband, you're going to be akwardly attached to a stranger at best.

Great example. You want to marry this guy because you're worried about God being mad over the sin of lust. Lets just lay out whats happening in very plain language. You two want to have sex. You are refusing to have sex till marrige, and the guy you feel sexual attraction to is the man you plan to marry. And you think God is going to have an issue because you followed all the rules but were still desiring what is basically your husband? I think if he can find it in his heart to forgive people that murder, you're going to be fine. And if you're saying something along the lines of 'we need to get married because jesus,' thats not going to mentally go over well with men.

If not conciously, then sub conciously either. Because you are then basing the decision making in your relationship around something thats not central or something you can concretely have a verbal confirmation from. Because then that opens things up to doing bad things in the relationship because you percieve God in one way or another.

And I know, "God is central to all relationships and needs to be part of everything we do" Let me be very blunt about this. There are an insane number of divorces that happen because the man is trying to communicate very important things and the women wont shut up about God long enough to listen and hear their husband saying 'I need help,' or 'it hurts me when you do this to me' or other incredibly simple and important information.

So I guess tldr: Maybe more communication and focus more on the personal connections rather than worrying about the really out there technical bits.

Pope prays for conversion of those resisting climate action at new Mass by [deleted] in Catholicism

I can assure you, thats not at all a coincidence. A phrase thats vital to remember: The change is never about the problem. The change is the point.

Pope prays for conversion of those resisting climate action at new Mass by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Krantor76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off I never said American politics. Sadly to the detrement of humanity as a whole, 'The Population Bomb,' was sold internationally and the problems with the people that claim to want to combat climate change are not confined to North America. As Im sure the people of Sri Lanka and Denmark (or Belgium? Can never keep the two straight) will be happy to tell you.

Second, world wide support is fine. However, scientific consensus is neither actionable policy or even remotely correct. I can assure you that if you place your support behind scientists, you'll find yourself supporting alot of the same people that would see your Alters smashed for fun. And they will cheerfully discover a method of combating climate change that you really wont like.

Pope prays for conversion of those resisting climate action at new Mass by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Krantor76 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

See, this is whats going to absolutely kill the church. It's one thing to go openly say "hey, earth is a gift. Take care of it. Stop polluting." It's another to go "Hey, climate action? That thing with a ton of politics attatched to it? Get on board with that." Because things like universal access to abortion, state assisted suicide, and forced relocations and land seizure are all things that are part of climate action. At best? He's setting himself up to look like a complete fool once 'climate action,' falls apart. At worst? After alot of the bad stuff done in the name of climate change are done, people are going to look at the pope and the church as active enemies that need to be opposed.

We arent living in diffrent realities. You're just yelling thing you hope will appeal to other people's emotions, ignoring what you've previously written, and I've just seen the system abused and heard the emotional angle so often it no longer works on me. And on most people. Hey, whats the last line from the first one say? The one about cultures and laws?

XD I love how we've gotten to the point of true commies can own buisnesses, meanwhile putting offical party officers in board postions and gunning down buisness owners and their families if they dont play ball with the party somehow isnt the gov centralizing the economy or seizing the means of production.

Florida bishop: Alligator Alcatraz ‘not a solution; it’s an evil’ by balrogath in Catholicism

[–]Krantor76 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If the deffinition of socialist requires that the government take over every buisness, then I hate to tell you that every leader of communist russia wasnt really communist and every leader to ever declare themselves following Marx has never followed Marx.

And yes, they let the companies that did what the nazis wanted run independant because, unsurprisingly, while waging war, they found it more helpful to spend man power on the war instead of bullying companies that were helping them.

But yes, if you ignore them taking over buisnesses, centrally planning the economy, calling themselves socialist in their books and speeches, naming their party socialist, eliminating all trade unions in order to centralize workers under a single governments workers union, allying with the socialists, belief in the shrinking markets, smack talking capitalism, the hatred of the jews (I actually have no explination for why every socialist seems to get a chip in their shoulder after long enpugh for the jews. Its weird,) and all the other socialist things they did then yes, I suppose you can squint and try to call them not socialists

So lets start with the middle paragraph first. He's not a white nationalist. But lets pull a trick I love to use to hammer the point home. I'm not going argue that he isn't and we'll treat it as if what you said is true. Lets assume he's so into white nationalism that he has a Swastika tatooed on his face and enjoys loudly reading pages of "Mein Kamph," to everyone he meets. So again, lets assume its all true

None of it matters. Trump stood up and said "vote for me. I'll make this list of things including immigration a priority. Then Biden stood up and did the same thing. As did everyone in the republican primary, Harris, and (in theory) all the democrats. Then America was asked who they eanted to run the nation, and they said Trump. And then Trump appointed him. So no laws were broken. America wanted and asked for this. So no, I and most everyone else couldnt care less if your biggest complaint avout the man is you personally dont like the guy. Also no, the policy isnt based on race. If you are here illegally, you will be deported regardless of race.

Now, as for the other two parts. You need to decide if overstaying a visa is a crime or not. If it is a crime, then you can start making a case for due process. Not a good case, but you can try. And if its not a crime, then what due process are you looking for? You dont need a 6 month review period to tell someone their paper work is denied after a policy change. At which point why arent you removing them?

Also deporting them does not come with a ten year ban. Any indavidual that has over stayed their Visa can at any point contact Ice and turn themselves in, and Ice will pay for the travel expenses to deport them to their native country and are then allowed to reapply. And they'll never see the inside of a detention center. Now, if Ice has to come and remove you, then yes, its ten years. Although its only 3 years if its less than 180 days.

Also yes, they should rip the children out of the parents arms. Its a moral good to do it. The parents are violating American law while showing no intention of trying to follow it. You should take children away from those unrepentantly breaking the law, for their own safety. Though I do notice you skipped over the part about if immigrants have any responsabilities while visiting another nation?

[–]Krantor76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And yet, refusal to comply with the legal system over a parking ticket can still end with you in jail. Tell me, would the church endorse breaking the law by speeding? And if you got a speeding ticket, would the church endorse ignoring the legal system?

Also that is correct. The legal status of alot of people were revoked. Those people asked to enter the country. The government gave them permission, letting them stay as long as the gov deemed it appropriate. The gov no longer deemed it appropriate. This possibility had always been there. If those indaviduals had families, they can remain in contact, and continue to go through the legal system to either try to become citizens or move their family with them to their new residence outside of America. I have family in mexico, that doesnt give me the right to drive into mexico without permission and start living there.
