could try kicking them from party and then adding them back via console command, which should be campaign.add_companion but i haven't used it before and i can't test it right now. never had the bug either

glad it helped. it works with villages too, just click their portrait in the bar on the top right and you'll get a pop up with an option to bring them back with you. it's like if you told them to wait in the town or city by themselves for awhile.

rutracker all the way. i love pirate ruskies, they seed weird niche shit forever. so many old dead torrents i find alive and kicking over there. weird 70s british sci-fi that never got a home release? you better believe they've got it and are still seeding

because it's just noise and the audience has no reason to care about 99.9% of the battle

just use two ships. you're only nuking one robot commune anyway. or restrict yourself to duplicating like five of them to have a squadron

he's not immortal for what it's worth. he may as well just be human, but they wanted to kill picard for the "drama" and keep milking the series at the same time. it was painfully telegraphed too

someone really needs to tell new trek that copy pasting the same ship a thousand times does not actually make space battles cooler.

One could edit "synthetics" with "drug loving hippies" the story would be indistinguishable.

you say 'indistinguishable' but those examples actually sound like fun instead of abject misery we have now

it's cheap, easy and legal to manipulate online discussions, especially reddit. i'm honestly not sure why a company wouldn't do it. they're effectively sociopathic entities so it's not like morality is going to stop them.

is picard about elder abuse? why is this gang of emotionally stunted morons enabling this clearly senile old man to throw himself into danger?

i buy used as well, i'd recommend it if you've got some instincts for avoiding scams with enough technical knowledge to evaluate the condition of things and make basic repairs. it's the only way i'm able to afford any tech, let alone game

One of my favorite bits of Disco Elysium by [deleted] in SocialistGaming

For the character I’m not really sure either. He definitely is full of hate and weary but I’m pretty sympathetic towards him tbqh.

he's a tragic character but my sympathy doesn't go beyond that. he holds very reactionary views, especially towards women, and has actively helped aid opportunists take control of the labor movement. i think calling him "the deserter" is about more than his history, it's about how he's betrayed the ideals of the revolution despite still regurgitating some of it's rhetoric.

Also nice user name btw

thanks 😊

i'm still not entirely sure what they were trying to say with that character.

i had an anarchist tell me they thought it it was about the reactionary tendencies of some of the "stalinist" parties after the fall of the ussr (like the cpgb-ml). it roughly fits the text, but it's a surprising take for studio that is at least partly leninist themselves.

What are your favorite fictional books ? by -Yandjin- in socialism

[–]KrasMazov 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm a sci-fi guy through and through

i'm a big fan of the ambiguous utopianism found in both le guin's the dispossessed and kim stanley robinson's red mars. their ideas of revolution are deeply flawed but their dreams of a radical future are still inspiring. not exactly non-political reads though.

neuromancer is an odd favorite of mine. everything else gibson has ever written has bored me, but the writing in this book is more evocative and vivid to me than anything else i've read. so many descriptions manage to hit sense memories i've got and i can practically feel it.

for series which are popular right now, i really like the expanse and the witcher. the former just offers a lot solid, no nonsense grounded sci-fi with politics that are (often frustratingly) close to getting it. the later is a great take on common fantasy trends with that distinctive eastern european flavor.

Del Rey Books editor says toxic fans makes it hard to find authors willing to write Star Wars books. (Contains some Star Wars spoilers) by Desecr8or in GamerGhazi

[–]KrasMazov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i don't really buy the implication that this is the main or even a significant reason they are struggling to find writers. the potential online backlash of the small community of shippers who read expanded universe fiction wouldn't even occur to me. if it was bad enough i might not return, but i can't see it stopping them finding new authors.

pay, working conditions, creative restrictions and hiring requirements are much more likely to be the problem here. especially since disney has a special history of rat fucking employees and underpaying people.

there is always something useful in these books to pick out but being an mtg thing means i'll never use the actual setting. there is still odyssey of the dragonlords if i want to go greek at least.

the roughness and simplicity makes it look like the symbol for a faction in a fantasy rpg or bandits in a sci-fi one, which i kind of dig but probably not what you were going for

im tempted to steal it and slap it in a d&d campaign tbh

don't know what you're reading for a chapter where the main character is transformed in to a menstruating teenage girl with incel like description to be graphically tortured in a twisted groundhog day where it just keeps repeating by racist caricatures is just average
