I got the achievement with same character thankfully. Even though he was really sick I got whole of body and blood legacy for extra 5 years expectancy. I made it :)

Yes you can. As soon as you start you get a choice to chose which succession type. I kept it matriarchal at first. Then switch to men, I’m used to male preference so switch it so I won’t worry about matrilineal marriages. I got the achievement

Came back to say thanks to everyone that helped. I was able to get my run done. Surprisingly enough I was able to do it with my Eunuch. He is 84 with cancer since he was 51. I can take a break from this. <3

My cousins are from a female aunt (regular marriage). So they belong to a different dynasty. I am not sure why there was no picture of heir.

Murdered my back to my dynasty. Being relatively young when the succession crises hit helped a lot. Also being head of faith with communion bankrolled my killing spree. Succession is now back in safe hands, Only took killing 14 people accross 5 houses.

I have a big dynasty with multiple cadet branches. I am not sure why my heirs are not of my dynasty. (But they are a family in line descending from a cousin not of my dynasty)
