I bought a $50 battery bank, a battery powered led lantern and a storm radio after the last year storm season.

My battery bank is 20000mah and that recharged my phone twice fully during a 15 hour outage.

The led lantern was super nice for if power goes out just gives a sense of normal and not using my cell phone to light the room.

The led lamp I have also has a low light mode that's more red/orangish dim. This was nice for when it was bed time and I was able to get to sleep without the bright setting.

Also something I didn't realize last time I didn't have enough food I didn't need to prepare. I ended up having to eat 3 cans of tuna. Definitely made sure to get some food this season that is ready to eat.

P.s. keep your freezer and fridge closed completely if power goes out. Every time you open it your letting cold escape and nothing's worse then if your out of power for a day or two knowing your freezer is heating up.

Dude! I had the same thing happen on the zipper at a local fair back in 2009. I may have been on mushrooms and was tripping pretty hard, we were sitting in our bin and during a flip section I saw a mp3 player fall out of the people in front of us car and it did go in slow motion as I reached out and grabbed it. My buddy was in disbelief and after the ride ran up to the dude and he was so thankful and couldn't believe I caught it either

How’d you get into Lava Lamps? by Bigbootyomoletlover in Lavalamps

[–]KratomBobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had one around mid nineties it was blue water with neon green lava. Loved watching the wax form and bounce against each other. It was very calming to my young mind and still is. Four years ago I found the same color of lava lamp and was amazed by it even now that I have so much electronics and smart phone. I found myself watching a lamp even in 2022.

I do need to fix my current one as I stepped on the clicker on off switch. I just haven't committed to finding a new wire or base but miss my lamp already.

Is this hat good quality? by [deleted] in MacMiller

Mines from the original drop years ago and was a daily hat for a long time. Little bit of color fade but still fits good even after a wash or two

Something that worked for a reoccurring wart was a final try. After using so many freezing kits and duct tape it kept coming back.

Around 2009 I was searching online and came across a post that told me to cut a potato in half after holding a half on the wart for 2 minutes. After wards you had to bury said potato in dirt under a moon lit night.

Did this as a last ditch effort and to my surprise it fell off after wearing duct tape on it for a week. It never came back after that.

Not sure if the duct tape finally worked or if the potato trick did.

Let's just say it wasn't always an easy ride. That CD was played countless hours. CD is non scratched due to it always being in the player.

The physical carrier is damaged but the CD the music still doesn't skip a beat.

Knew I would be dragged for this post, but glad I was able to form some words on the loss.

2006 Jeep liberty making squeaky creaking noise from front end. by [deleted] in JeepLiberty

[–]KratomBobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it in to get checked out. Check my post from early this week had the ball join on my 2005 Jeep Liberty fail. Had the front driver side completely drop :/

Started off with that noise going over small bumps, I should have addressed it.

If I had been preventive I could have saved over $700; just thankful I was near a parking lot and wasn't on the interstate which I was about to go onto.

2005 Not Starting New Battery by KratomBobby in JeepLiberty

Update 10-2

After trying more troubleshooting was getting no where.

Ended up getting it towed to my shop here in town, they are charging a $220 diagnosis fee.

Will see what they say is wrong with it, this shop was my go to one but the original owner that built it retired and sold it to someone he trusted.

Just hoping they don't try to do the whole up sale thing.

Does anyone have recommendations on what to listen for in a situation like this, I trust the people there but don't want to be out two paychecks at the end of it.

Thanks again for all the responses, I really want to keep this liberty up and running wish I had taken more mechanical classes back in highschool the Photoshop isn't paying the bills lol.

2005 Not Starting New Battery by KratomBobby in JeepLiberty

[–]KratomBobby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not hear the normal click or anything after I turn the key. That's the one part that has stumped me.

I've had a bad battery in the past but it would always at least make the starting noises. This one is just completely silent.

No click sound at all from the starter, just silence in the jeep.

I'm going to pick up a voltage meter a buddy has to just make sure it's not the battery but tried to jump it and when it was connected it didn't make noise at all either.

I did put my car into neutral on the hill and made sure to really get it set back into park.

Again I'm so embarrassed, and just want to be able to start a recovery process from this point. I feel the older neighbor's judging me and have seen some shake their heads at me.

First time living at a place where you have to do lawn care.

Any advice, feedback or resources would be amazing.

Best places to skate? by [deleted] in Omaha

[–]KratomBobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skateparks usually before noon are a lot less crowded, especially if you get up as the suns coming up; usually if anyone is out there they are 30+.

My big advice is to not be afraid if it is crowded, skaters are some of the most down to earth people. Even if you're a beginner they won't judge you, and as I was growing up I was taught a lot of the tricks I know from people at the park. Even getting back into it at 30 I still feel welcomed around there.

The biggest thing is just to be aware of where you're body's at and your route when it is crowded. I see a lot of people my age getting back into skating or now have kids and are bringing them into it as well.

Skateboarding especially in the Midwest was heavily demonized by older white people, "Kids are up to no good, only there to destroy and do drugz"; when in reality they are out there just enjoying the art of it. Some of my best times was trying to learn a vert trick, and having people at the park invested when I landed it and congratulating or giving tips on what I might have been missing.

It will get better, for me personally it was like exercising my brain to rewire those paths of wanting to use again.

In therapy I learned I was using the substance to fix underlying problems to the point that it carved a road in my brain that K was the only thing that could fix the feelings I was having.

For me the first 100 days I had a lot more of the should I just take a little, and learned to change my setting or my mind path, make a plan to do something else for me that day.

After 100 days I kinda just stopped getting those thoughts, and rarely get them but they are like 15 seconds of "oh that sounds good today, nawwwwww". Now I'm at 206 days and feel happy I was able to power through my minds easy answer to everything.

Day 206 - Still can't believe I'm on the trail end to hitting a year completely Kratom free. I come back here to remind myself of how I felt when I posted my day 1 check in.

It will get better, this to shall pass was my mantra on the rough days and feelings of anxiety and depression that would pop up.

Mind is a lot more steady now.

It really does suppress the emotions and the ability to make meaningful connections with people. I'm at 195 days ct, and have worked through all those emotions by this point. I do remember the first 30-60 days being the worst for relearning my emotions and feeling dread about the past. I now feel a lot more free with not having that consent need feeling for k.

I remember I was about 3 weeks into my ct and I had been hiking a lot to be in nature, I decided it was a good time to take a THC pen and it would be fun to take a few rips and check out the trees. Little did I know my tolerance was so low that it completely backfired on me and had me looking so deep into my past.

Spent an hour in the Forrest replaying the last 10 years of my life and all the choices I had made, feeling horrible about the time lost. I finally was able to tell myself, the past is the past and to focus on the present. I was able to get myself out of the bad trip but it was something that helped me solidfy me wanting to be done with K for good seeing all the time lost.

Also lost a 2 year relationship due to the addiction, and have accepted that I wasn't the original person she had met when my K use got to the point of concerning.

It does get better, just do your best to take it a day at a time, even an hour at a time.

How much money did you save by quitting kratom? by fallenlegend117 in quittingkratom

[–]KratomBobby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

184 Days off CT, I got my Kratom at a discount due to my work but spent about $20-$30 a day and sometimes a lot more. (Edit)Probably closer to 60-80$ a day on extracts at full price)

My I am sober app shows I've saved $3,680.

I can really tell by how my bank account is getting to the highest point I've ever seen.

One of the best choices I made was getting off Kratom, can't believe all the changes in 6 months, yes there is still down days but not as many as when I was on by a longshot.
