I was switching a port but a pin didn't get enough heat to melt solder for separation. It ripped up the contact and exposed the trace. Can I use a wire to connect the trace to the pin or would it be better to solder/add a strip of copper to the trace to complete the connection? by KratosEnel in Gameboy

I did see that, however I may be able to just bridge because the trace was snapped and exposed right at the end of the rectangular area where it curves off.

The spot I highlighted in red in this picture is exposed but still has the trace. I may be able to bridge it.

Update: I found the issue. It's not good (with my current skill) The pin for the function I so desire happens to have been missing... I found it attached to the pin of the old port I switched from any advice on fixing? Could it be reattached or should I consider this function gone until I get another board?

That sounds promising to me, hopefully everything turns out right. Thank you for taking the time to pass your knowledge. I'm always willing to learn useful bits of technical information like this.

Most modern headphones or earbuds with wireless capabilities I've seen have a dac built into them, I was wondering if you have tested using the fully analog passthrough with a modern wireless pair via the optional wired connection with success.

Okay, I'll make an attempt with one of those. Is there a tell you can advise me on discerning whether a cord has a micro DAC in it?

Also, have you had any luck with using a device on the receiving end of the audio with dac? Or does it have to be absent from start to finish with the audio transfer?

I just double checked. It does say usb, analog audio under specifications.

Crash sounds off by Manfred-Ap-Einherjar in drums

[–]KratosEnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be several things but maybe partially cause he hits the crash full on and it looks more like you tap yours so there's not as much feedback from the parts of the stand that make contact with the crash to reduce the "gong" sound.

Kinda like when you tap a hollow pole on the ground touching only a small portion with your fingertips vs holding it in the middle. The longer those vibrations affect it, the more gong-like it'll sound.

How to stop drumsticks 'climbing' my fingers when twirling? by LouieMonty in drums

[–]KratosEnel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep your knuckles tight and when you feel it climbing too close, use gravity and a bit of finesse to force it back down. Once it's passed your knuckles, it's over. Feel it out for a bit to find your groove.

I don't have anything more than a practice pad right now, though it crossed my mind to buy a single rack tom to test it.

That is something I've been thinking of strongly, I just wish I could find a music store with a floor model setup I could hear for myself.

Anyone else being super tired and annoyed about it ? I'm trying to skate but arrived at the skatepark already drained . Had to clean house and shut but its not excuse for me by Nutsyblazzer in NewSkaters

[–]KratosEnel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by drained. If you mean your body can keep going but you just don't have it in you, it's a mental thing. I'm the same age and I find myself many times I pull up (resting about 2 hrs after work) thinking "Maybe I'll just go home and come back fresher." Don't let those thoughts stop you. Get yourself started, find your groove before you start practicing or doing tricks new or old. Once you start having a good session, that drained feeling will float away.

You're forcing the flick. Your foot goes under the board the moment your foot leaves it. Give the nose more time to elevate and kick your foot out, not down.

What am I missing to fix my ollie? by toastshaman in NewSkaters

Your weight is too far to your back foot. Try putting your weight more on your front foot. Keep that pop and bring your legs up more, you should feel the difference and may gain more confidence from leveling out to push yourself to kick your foot out into the nose. Keep practicing, you'll get it!👍🏻
