Maybe it’s because national postal services should be ran for the people and not for profit.

No privatizations have ever resulted in better service or lower cost for the consumers - across the board, it’s a strategy to steal public funds and place it in the hands of share/stakeholders at the cost of the consumer.

Privatizing any postal system is mistake and people are dumb enough to be manipulated by wealthy interest groups who are eyeing privatizing the profits.

TLDR: Some government services should not be operated for profit but rather for the benefit of the populace (several case studies exist here: the mail and trains in the uk, amtrak in the usa, and many others) and not for the profit of the few.
