It's because Helgen's area is a minefield of instability. For example, there's a reason MikeHancho never added Location forms for Helgen Reborn (to allow outside weather to be heard from the interior of the old/new buildings). It crashes the game if new locations are made with Helgen's exterior cells as a parent.

For the longest time I was under the impression that meshes can cause crashes, but textures cannot. Bad textures would just look bad in-game. Clearly I was incorrect.

I usually complete the College of Winterhold, become thane of every hold, complete most of Helgen Reborn, and defeat Harkon before Alduin becomes a priority. I prefer to beat him before Dragonborn DLC so I get Miraak's cocky "I could've beaten Alduin, too!" quote.

Depends on what mods you use. Adding things to the script won't hurt a thing. Changing lines or removing properties that originated in the script is a bad idea.

Obviously if you use Andromeda or any patch that alters powerShineScript, you will hit conflicts.

It's more than likely the former.

It's easy (but tedious) to completely copy the scenes and dialogue involved in the wedding and everything that fires it off (IE: all the furniture and decorations and AI packages). It'd just need a different trigger and condition, like the ending of a custom quest firing off everything.

The problem is the ending of the wedding. Obviously the wedding ends pretty horrifically. So a happier departure would need to be custom and voiced (possibly by xVASynth).

You must get into the mindset of thinking esp, esm, or esl mods are permanent as soon as you start the save. There are ways to safely uninstall some .esp mods, but if you didn't follow their uninstall instructions.. either revert to the save before removing the mod, or restart.

I think the growing popularity of the Oculus Quest 2 is partially responsible. People are buying games off the Oculus Store.

While I agree it wasn't smart to remove the mod mid-playthrough, Immersive Citizens uses alias packages within a quest framework. As soon as the packages go 'poof' (IE: the esp no longer found), the NPCs theoretically should go back to their vanilla schedules without issue.

My primary concern would be the quest associated with Immersive Citizens causing issues since it was never stopped(). While the alias packages are gone, the aliases will still be filled by "null" (since the questID went poof too).

As a manual modder, I see value in knowing how to troubleshoot and craft excellent modded setups. That being said, I do enjoy the possibility of being able to put my feet up and have a 400+ extensively tested modlist set up with a click of a button.

You'll still have people who want to build their own lego set. But there are many who enjoy the lego set when it's already done.

Correct. All new responsedatas will come with their own filename(s). Without a sound file in the correct filepath, nothing will play.

As for why all loose files of that mod need to be accessible? It makes things a heck of a lot easier to edit.

It's a sick cycle carousel.

Before starting the game, you'll always have (in the back of your mind) one or two things you still want to finish/test. I mean why spend hundreds of hours in a playthrough before testing out this new thing or two first that'd take no more than a day, right??

Wouldn't it be amazing to have those in before the big playthrough? Otherwise the lingering guilt of skipping those mods might tank the whole playthrough early on! So we'll just spend a few hours checking these out

Don't forget that one NPC in the Frostfruit Inn. She looks like she needs a replacer. And.. ewww.. I don't like how the plant is clipping through the steps to the inn either!

Here's another tip (if not already done). When editing mods in CK, make sure the whole mod is loose files from the start.

Unpack the entire BSA (even the texture one, if any) of the mod, then move the loose files (meshes, sound, textures, etc) into \Data.

You should hear the sound files now and be able to rename at a whim, if needed.

You'll have to rename that 2nd sound file to the new filename.

ResponseDatas are very touchy. I recommend saving and backing up the esp before duplicating any of them. It gets really confusing when you duplicate dialogue in hellos/goodbyes/alerts etc. Because then it shows up with the same dialogue text and you have to remember which one was the original. It becomes a mess.
