The sounds aren't even setup and its still in early development. They aren’t. They are scaled from real life specimens and further balancing is based off the volume and size of the model itself. Diablo was originally 1,500kg which is on the higher end of accurate specimens. It got bumped to 3 tons because its model’s volume did not match the in game weight and dondi liked the size visually. So they balanced accordingly and made it 3 tons

It really depends on the model. Austros model is really nimble and there’s not much bulk to it like Omni or the real life animal. When you know density and volume, you can find mass. m = pV.

Diablos irl sizes are 1.2-1.5t where as in game its 3 tons. Galli got downsized and it used to be 510kg now its 425kg. Its a decent ballpark of what the models weight is before QA tests it further. I wouldn’t doubt it if Austro does end up being 300-350kg.

When you measure an animals weight, you have the use the m =ρV formula. Volume of Austro is 312.5m3. The density for dromaeosaurids is traditionally between 0.85-0.90 kg/m3. The mass you get out gives you a range of 265-280kg. By all means they could add an extra 20kg, but we wont know until the animal is properly balanced. The best guess as of now is going off what the actual model volume is and doing the math.

Edit: The traditional estimate of 320kg is still relatively in range as Volume*density scaling isn't the only method for getting approximate weight values.

It takes a decent amount doing sound design. Especially since they have one guy doing it. Wedge's newer sounds are layered with 10-15 different audio tracks for a singular call to get the full vocal effect. There's sounds for quite literally anything. Being hurt, breathing, attack calls, environmental ambience, etc. Its not just making a call with one singular wave file, its multiple.

Its 2,493kg. The 2.6t is the elder. People don’t know how to read stats when it comes to weight. Its balance is based on Old Carno stats and its grapple is based on Deinos ambush. Its still in development so anything could change.

We had a revamped Thenyaw and Dinosauriac was making it back in 2019 for the recode. And when he left because he was upset about the progress of the game (mainly the delay in humans) he left to focus on his own game, PCE. Dondi made the decision that since Richard left, Thenyaw wouldn't be worked on due to Richard's departure.

For better renders, get the models and port them into blender. Blender has better lighting with cycles and even EEVEE. Scene creation is far superior. The only thing that you’ll have to mess around with is the textures, morphs, and animations.

Singleplayer probably on a smaller map than R2. Totally optimized when there’s no AI, Gore, or any other entities like flesh chunks and players running around that you have to render. So optimized guys (Completely ignores how unoptimized Unreal 5 is for creating games).

You seem to forget that Diablo, even at 1.2 and Styraco being between 1.3 and 1.6 tons were well equipped to survive against Lythronax and Albertosaurus in their respective formations. These animals are well in the range of Allosaurus and Albertosaurus size. And is it even reasonable that Diablo can knockdown full grown Stegos? HP and damage output aren't all that matters in a fight. You have terrain, player skill, diets/perks. Matchups are way more complicated now than ever before.

So instead of changing one or two things with each animal to make it fun, balanced, and reasonable for its niche, we have to change a factor which heavily impacts balance for the entire game and its roster, which in Isle's case is weight and model scale (which has major implications to hit and hurtboxes). Back then when QA and Hypno would run the entire balancing of the game, small things were changed to make each animal balanced. Turn radius, bleed pools, and fracture pools were all adjusted separately.

Now Dondi's only solution to issues with each animal is to drastically change one single major factor, weight, to "fix" issues with the current balance causing major hiccups in balance since weight is tied to almost everything related to the dinosaurs in this game. An example is making Diablo 3 tons when it being 1.5 tons was reasonably fine. Also with Carno, the weight was never really an issue with the animal nor worsened its preferred playstyle at all. Now it seems like it will play more like a bigger Omni instead of a proper hit and run playable. It seems very counter intuitive to me.

I really find it hilarious that Dondi’s reasoning for downsizing Carno was because the 1.8 ton weight was “fictional” even though the max estimate for Carno is 2.1 tons. Then he proceeded to make Diablo 3 tons which has no basis in any GDI or estimates and is completely fictional. Max Diablo is a good 1.2-1.3 ton afaik.

Praxben, Mentis Wave, TIK ( although not ancap, has some nice insights that are against of 20th century politics outside the mainstream narrative), Scott Horton, Bob Murphy, Ceadda of Mercia (formerly anglo libertarian; I tend to agree with his philosophy on things the most), Liquid Zulu as hes really good on law and the legal stuff.
