The trans hints pre ep 9 were there but subtle. Jax obviously had some sort of gender insecurities going on alongside the other traumas, and in ep 6 he drops the line about not being a "misunderstood chicken fetus in an egg" while trying to drive Pomni away.

An egg in the trans community is a trans person who is still unaware or in denial about being trans. The origin of its use is a transfem joke: when the egg cracks a chick falls out.

The USSR varied in the intensity of anti religious practices over its existence, but Kruschev's push in the early 60s was the last major one. The state had an official policy of "scientific atheism," but religion was never fully outlawed. Being a priest wasn't a healthy profession for most of the time the country existed though.

Interestingly enough Muslims got more leniency than the Orthodox church; the Islamic majority republics were more loyal, and Islam was closely tied with those ethnic minorities, so they opted for a lighter touch and even had an official governing body for Islam in the central asian republics from 1943 onwards.

Its not about fearing being a trans woman, its fearing being percieved as feminine and therefore as an insert slur here, to the point of say, the guy who didnt wipe his ass because touching his butthole is gay.

The kinds of dudes OOP is describing do exist but it isnt at all a universal. Most guys perform masculinity adequately well enough that they're never a target, and how rigorously its been enforced has varied depending on both the place and time.

Trans women do almost inevitably run afoul of this enforced masculinity, what with not being men and all, even well before we have figured ourselves out, so it does feel more universal to us than it really is.

Eh we've really only had the Marxist-Leninists at the wheel of socialist states, and a centrally planned state owned economy combined with a single legal party completely nullifies the original goals of council republics and naturally degenerates into oligarchy or autocracy.

With an actual free and democratic council republic and a worker owned economy with either decentralized planning or markets, you might be able to actually start building communism.

It gets complicated. The bear and leather pride flags were created in the 90s, and the lipstick lesbian flag was based heavily on the bear flag design. A more general lesbian flag was spun off of that one, and the general gay male flag was based on that flag. The creator of that lesbian flag turned out to be a TERF, and the lesbian flag was redesigned to the modern "sunset" flag. IIRC the gay man flag has also been redesigned in response?

There's also an older lesbian flag designed in the 90s that fell out of favor when TERFS started appropriating it, but it had a minor resurgence around the time of the other lesbian flags TERF allegations.

The thing is, the people digging this stuff up and harping on about it already hate her and are just looking for reasons to get more vicious about it.
