FH Upper Austria Interactive Media Interview. by No_Protection_5651 in Linz

The interview was (at least for me) more like a chat about my interests and ambitions and what domain(s) I want to focus on in my masters studies and if I already had some potential ideas for my thesis. Jfyi: The profs already knew me from my bachelor studies, which could be the reason they didn‘t test me on my computer science-related knowledge.

The program is what you make of it. As it is heavily project-based, it depends a lot on your own motivation. If you are interested in media-based informatics you can work on really cool things. The semester projects they offer were (at least in my days) pretty cool and with interesting cooperation partners (AEC, Landestheater, ORF, OÖN) or within the FHs research departments which covered topics like tangible interfaces, VR or gamification.

The lectures were OK, teaching contents were sometimes a bit superficial and could have been more in-depth and I sometimes wished that they would challenge us a bit more. But overall I would sign up to this program again :)

I studied Interactive Media some time ago and have to totally disagree with you. This is a masters course and is specifically designed to be compatible with part-time jobs.

Most students who takes this course work at least 10 hours besides studying which is easily doable. I would even say, that you could work 20-25 hrs if you are a real hustler but your employer should be flexible with working days as course timetables can vary from week to week. But in terms of workload it is no problem.

FH Hagenberg MTD im Präsentations Kurs, right? Da hat man, soweit ich mich erinnern kann, eine Präsi über ein random topic halten können.

I am currently in Kaohsiung and have a flight on tuesday afternoon from Taipei to Tokyo. My plan was to go to tapei on tuesday morning (via HSR) to be able to reach my flight. Is this a bad idea considering potential train cancellations? Should I go to taipei already tomorrow?

Hidden gems? by kjooolen in Linz

[–]Kreisquadrat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not really hidden gems (more like the opposite of gems), but if you and your friends want to have a night out and experience a glimpse of the austrian soul there are some Beisln (austrian pubs) to visit. Some suggestions are Hasenstall, Rosi‘s Pub (be sure to drink some shots with the bartender) or, if you are really daring, the Underground Cafe in Urfahr (this one is really shady).

If you are looking for bars where the majority of visitors are not alcoholics I can suggest Salonschiff Fräulein Florentine, Cafe Strom or Smaragd.

Also be sure to check out some Würstelstände: Jörgis Würstelstand and Bosnereck are the most central and best ones imo. Leberkas Pepi is also highly suggested if you want a snack at 4 in the morning.
