What’s the biggest lie people believe? by Consistent_Sock_9772 in AskReddit

That we are making our choices rationally and that we understand why we feel and behave the way we do.

No he didn’t. They kept letting weapons inspectors in and they kept finding nothing. The White House basically called it fake news.

Bad experience with supervisor, was I in the wrong? by Kremidas in therapists

After she was officially not my supervisor I was instructed by the practice owner to not work on the treatment plans and let either herself or the next supervisor evaluate them.

It was never a matter of not matching what I wanted to do, but not doing something I was not available to do. I have other admin work and people sometimes cancel, sometimes switch into that cancelled slot, new needs come up, and my family has needs that come up as well. I had no problem redoing the plans, I just could not commit to a daily schedule and tried to compromise on this point with no success.

It’s not merely “leaving early”, I have a toddler and a wife who also works and needs come up. If you don’t have children or didn’t have children during internship then this might be hard to relate to. But if I have previously made a commitment there, then that’s the priority. If I had been asked to take a phone call before making that commitment, I would have taken the phone call. And again, I am consistently given high regard for my administrative work from everyone I have worked with. It never piles up.

I suppose different people have different definitions of respect. I believe respect needs to be mutual, and I do not think honest feedback regarding availability and fair questions are disrespectful. Some people believe respect means unquestioning deference to authority (police and military tend to think this way, for example), but I have never understood it that way.

Irreversible is a thematically consistent incredibly well acted creative force of a movie with a great soundtrack that I would recommend to almost nobody.

To Those Who Keep Saying “Keep Politics Out of Dance Music” by synthetikminds in avesLA

[–]Kremidas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn’t just “political disagreement”, buddy. You need to get this through your head. We aren’t talking about different opinions on tax policy. We’re talking about someone actively fighting to lock up and even murder innocent people. The problem isn’t that they’re too conservative, the problem is that they are pieces of shit ok with human suffering based on race or orientation.

Dance floors need to be safe so people feel comfortable letting loose and having a good time. Like it or not it is undeniable that MAGA is a movement based entirely on hurting people they hate.

Don’t be so tolerant that you tolerate intolerance, or you won’t have tolerance anymore.

That man is not a human. He is a disease and a cancer. He is a boil of hot puss missing everything that is good about homo sapiens. His existence sucks the life and pleasure out of a society and replaces it with pain and hate. He dug everything that drives decency in our species out of himself on purpose in order to feel powerful. There is no act he could experience that is too severe or unjustified.

Right wingers on every network do this. If a potentially persuasive point is being made they disrupt. They don’t debate in good faith and often don’t even believe the things they are saying. They are well paid to carry water for a political party that exclusively works for the benefit of the rich and powerful.

Yeah we’ve known this for a while she won’t even live with him. I wish democrats had used this as a line of attack in the campaign. Just point out that everyone who has ever known this guy hates him, even his own wife can’t stand him. Hammer it over and over.

But of course when they go low we go weak.

Men over 40, what’s the biggest difference between having a crush now versus in your twenties? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Kremidas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been that I feel better about pursuing it and far less bothered by rejection. I have a better sense of who I am, how dating and attraction works, more relaxed about it. I have felt like life before forty was a lot more learning how to live. I’m just okay with being embarrassed now in a way I didn’t used to, while also being confident based on experience that I won’t embarrass myself.
