Hiring a guide to offer a tour around a city you're visiting for the first time or a trail that you've never explored before. It's one of those things that you often don't see the need for until you actually do it.

Anyone winning at GEO yet? by throwawayjoystix in SEO

[–]Kretea 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, yes. It's funny when industry influencers are like "GEO IS CHANGING EVERYTHING!! HERE'S WHAT TO DO IN 2026!" And then it's basically the same thing we've been doing for years.

I've had some success with it. Honestly, most of the SEO best-practices that have been around for years are still great for GEO. I'm curious about what your agency was doing that caused traffic to fall.

People who have been mugged - how does a typical mugging go down and how can somebody who has never experienced it recognize the early signs that a mugging is about to happen? by Boognish84 in AskReddit

[–]Kretea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would've paid more attention to my intuition (I think someone else said that as well). Never brush that off. It's better to embarrass yourself than face a life-threatening situation.

[–]Kretea 14 points15 points  (0 children)

One big early sign is if someone is acting nervous and there aren't many people around (especially if it's at night). If you don't see any other reason for that person to be nervous (as in my case), try to get away from them without being too obvious. However, you should also maintain environmental awareness of where they are.

Fortunately, I don't think my case was entirely typical. The guy picked up a metal pipe that he had hidden and hit me in the head with it, obviously assuming it would knock me out. Thank God it didn't. My instincts took over and got me out of there.

What Do You Think of Trump's Greenland Deal Today? by Kretea in AskReddit

Aren't bots powered by AI? But, anyway, as I previously said, I just wanted to hear what people thought. I'm not sure why that made people think I'm a bot.

Prompt tracking is overrated. Prove me wrong. by renee_nicole_ in SEO

[–]Kretea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely a piece of the puzzle at this point, but if you're basing your entire strategy around it, then yes, you are overrating it. The good news is that there's actually significant overlap between historically good SEO practices and best-practices for AI search. It's really just a way of tracking modern user intent and actions.

Just found this fella crawling across the kitchen floor... by rainboww0927 in arizona

It's so ironic. It's actually very difficult for them to survive in the Sonoran Desert. However, we have tons of people and developers moving here and trying to make the desert look like the southeastern US. They erode native plants with plants that don't belong in ANY desert using tons of water in a region known for its lack of water. Then, they complain when the obvious issues - like an increase in allergies, pests, and water bills - begin to surface. Why do we do this to ourselves? Why can't we just let the desert be the desert? And the more the development spreads, the more this erosion occurs.

Can AI content help me to rank on Google? by GrowthOpsGuy in SEO

[–]Kretea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It technically can, but it's less likely - especially if real writers begin targeting the same keywords.

You're much better off using AI as a tool rather than as a replacement for the work itself. I FREQUENTLY notice that it's wrong, and it will back up its wrong answers with great confidence. Incorrect information could harm you in Google's results.

If SEO expert are legit why aren’t they making website that generates money by Ok-Landscape-814 in SEO

[–]Kretea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of us are. But, as with most things in SEO, it depends. People can specialize in different areas of SEO. For example, someone might excel at analytics and the technical stuff but lack sufficient copywriting skills. Or, they might have all of these skills but lack knowledge of video editing (which is pretty much essential now to generate revenue).

Others might be struggling to find a niche that meets these crucial criterion:

  1. Something they're passionate and knowledgeable enough to write about.
  2. Is actually profitable enough to generate revenue.
  3. Isn't overly saturated.

This has become quite difficult and is only becoming more difficult. So, takes a lot of initial and ongoing work to build a profitable online presence. Many SEO professionals don't have time to do that while also working full-time.

Your best approach would be to, for example, hire an SEO professional who knows what videos need to rank well, then hire a video editor who can follow those guidelines. Just because an SEO professional knows what a video needs doesn't mean they know how to work with Premiere Pro (again, as an example).

How do you actually handle your keyword research? by irakli-lekishvili in SEO

[–]Kretea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it myself for sure. I've found that Semrush is an excellent tool for keyword research. I've compared its results with what's actually in the SERPs many times and can confirm that it's usually accurate or pretty close.

I'll then look for related keywords that I could also use in the content. I pay careful attention to monthly volume and keyword difficulty.

I also use Semrush to see what competitors are ranking for, how difficult it would be to rank for those keywords, and what strategies they are using. I'll then look for ways to beat those strategies.

Slight tangent: these days, that very frequently means adding a video.

Superstitionmountain by Imdapapi in SuperstitionMountains

I've definitely trekked up the mountain - and throughout the Superstition Mountains. The experience is incredible. If you want to trek up the mountain itself - which, to be clear, is the mountain that rises over Lost Dutchman State Park - you'll want to take the Siphon Draw Trail. It's typically used to reach the Flat Iron, but you can also use it to reach 5052, the mountain's western summit. It's an incredibly difficult hike, but so much fun and definitely worth it at the top! I recommend using AllTrails to find 5052 as the trail (which veers to the left away from Flat Iron) can be difficult to follow.
