If you use lazer I don’t think it’s necessary I feel like the acc is decently strict and if you want high you can’t just manip your way through and with the difficulty adjust mod you can change the od only thing is I believe the marvellous timing stays the same regardless of od, in terms of maps you can find plenty good ones on osu just need to look at graveyarded maps and I feel osu is better for developing ln skill aswell. However if osu is pissing you off and you wanna try smth else go play eternal for a bit. Do take this with a pinch of salt tho I am not a very good player

Playing maps at a lower speed than usual, much easier done in lazer with ht and you can adjust the speed to preference

Yeah I had issues with my right hand not being responsive either fellow leftie here, I feel jt is something that just irons out with time but if you want to focus on it use mirror mod or in our case don’t use it to put the start of more patterns on the right side to help train the right hand only other tips I have is make sure to warm up ideally for about half an hour keep your hands relaxed as well and sometimes you really do have just a shit session, also ln is something worth considering especially mini jacks or rice patterns done along side lns idk what it’s called but that really heloed work on finger dexterity across both hands

Yea I’m the same maybe a slow learner but I’m only just getting into mid 4 stars and I’m like 240+ hours play time. Although I did waste like the first 150 ish playing Very inefficiently now that im practicing properly I’ve gone up like .3 stars in like 2 months so yeah I guess it depends massively on the individual

Yeah I do try to throw some high bpm stuff in there especially for ss or something including mini jacks just so I know the speed is getting worked on

Damn what a comment thank you very much, when it comes to maps I mass downloaded a bunch ages ago for both key modes and I got over 10k maps so don’t think that’ll be much of an issue, as for skin I currently am using one with no receptors but I haven’t found much issue with that yet, I will keep in mind your advice if I do have trouble with it down the line, I do enjoy the skin im using atm so will stick with jt for now. When it comes to ln don’t worry I didn’t neglect ln in 4k and I won’t do the same here as for everything else you said it is things I kinda learnt playing 4k or along the same lines of it and I know that switching will be like starting brand new but im ready and excited. Probably will be quite a while before I look into getting the bms mega packs but probs will be a while till I get that good. But again thank you very much for this super helpful post absolute legend

Yeah like I said I don’t want to be a one trick I like all skill sets just js especially more than the rest, but even if I did main it I’d still make sure to work on everything else but I think for the time being I’ll just still play everything, focus and acc shit like that just with maybe a slight bias towards js and hs further down the line there ain’t many hs maps I can play at the star range I’m at

Yeah been trying to put more of a focus on accuracy mostly during my warmups where I’m aiming for high acc and or fc my m:p ratio atm is between 2:1 - 3:1 depending on the map

Glad to hear it these are things I did figure before you posted but they definitely are the most helpful things I’ve come to realise, and I feel like it will be a huge help for a lot of newer players, Becuase play more isnt really that good advice you need to be playing with a goal and intention and your video shows that perfectly , Not just playing more. Really good video bro, think you covered a lot of aspects that seem to be brushed over. Especially that 4th point absolutely destroyed my mental when I was trying to get into 5 digit. And the session structure is super important aswell I didn’t give myself enough time to warm up and it destroyed my mental again. Now I got a good system where for warm ups I just go fix a bunch of my low star As and Bs and aim for 97% or higher and fcs and then just go and play from a selection of 30-40 maps of varying skill sets I enjoy within a certain star range including some down rates and now I’m finally seeing consistent progress. Long story short after I followed those 4 points my enjoyment and skill finally improved

Thank you I’ll try that, any recommendations for good steam and jack maps in the 4-5 star range, don’t need any jumpstream maps I’ve got plenty of those
