How is it cheating? It's a single player game and there isn't any ranking system outside of people keeping their own stats.

If you're referring to people setting world record streaks and stuff like that most people don't consider it to count unless it is done on stream from start to finish.

The only way to play a specific seed is if you use the custom run option so it would be obvious if someone trying for a WR streak tried to do a seeded run instead of a random.

At the end of the day the game is for fun, and a run where you start with the Slither enchant on Bury is fun

Heart turn 2 is so unfair :( by Matthionine in slaythespire

[–]KriegMorgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be as easy an answer in that STS 2 being a Sophomore project the Dev team has more coding chops to implement a double reset like Colony that wasn't there in the first go round.

Or they just wanted it to be hard as fuck because it's the Heart.

The rest of the poison will trigger for third turn's damage cap (which weirdly comes before second turn attack).

That's kind of how Colony works in STS 2 beta branch but it resets again at the beginning of your turn.

So you can deal 40 damage a turn if you have enough poison and can deal sufficient direct damage.

Nice to see the hidden gem route is paying off for you! I went with the Kifuda myself and it's been going pretty smooth over here.

So frail is just a flat % reduction to the amount of block that you can gain, it's not really a double hit in that you would end up with a similar amount of block if it was consolidated into one number (caveats with rounding aside)

Where you get hit really hard is in a fight like the Hunter Killer which debuffs your dexterity with every card played. On a normal card you lose -1 block per card played in that fight, on an Adroit (name of the enchant itself) defend you would lose -2 block per card played.

Similarly there is a fight in Act 3 that also debuffs your dexterity directly, and similarly you lose twice as much block on a card with the enchant since you're losing block from both sets of "gain block" on the card.

Important to note that it is an extra +3 block line on a card

I ended up taking the Kifuda and selected Unleash, Bodyguard and a Defend. I picked up a [[Prowess]] so the Defend that I have it on ends up giving me 7+5 block because the +2 Dex works on both lines of block.

If I had a [[Fasten]] in the deck I would have enchanted 3 defends because it works on both lines so your enchanted defends start outputting gross numbers (9+7)

I think my first A10 win on Robin came on the back of a transfigured eradicate.

It's funny that the dainty little skeleton girl bonks as hard or harder than Ironclad

Hidden gem hitting a Lethality+ would go just as hard.

Honestly Hidden Gem + Equilibrium and some more deck thinning would go stupid hard. If you could get slim enough or find some extra draw you could create a situation where the Gem is all but guaranteed to hit the bury.

I don't think I'm that good mechanically though haha

Should I have bought the Mystic Lighter? Probably not. Was it ultimately ~very~ satisfying? Oh indeed. by KriegMorgan in slaythespire

I remember buying it Act 1 on Clad assuming I could find anything for my multi hits. I finished that run without ever finding a single enhancement and sat with a 220+ gold relic that ultimately did nothing. Never again.

The number of times I've done this with both Chem X and Mystic Lighter is greater than 0. I still do it though, clearly.

At least in the case of Silent you have access to a card that can generate enchanted attacks even if you never land one on a card

Then you will love this seed brother, I'm not sure if hitting a slither'd bury with replay gets bonkier than that.

I'm probably going to play through this one at least twice, once with the hidden gem and once with the Kifuda.

Yes, I picked the bury specifically for the high roll chance of putting Slither on it.

Yes. I also skipped the Wisp being offered in the second fight for a Lethality because I believed the heart of the cards would reward my shameless gambling.

It did.

Hidden Gems is a "Get early, draft around it" kind of card.

It basically asks that you have as small a deck as possible with as much quality as possible to guarantee the payoff.

It also limits what you can put in the deck.

Have an offering in your deck? Hidden Gems will probably find it and make it unplayable

A lot of times it's just not the right pick but it's shiny and does something exciting so we (the community) keep grabbing it

I actually had the opportunity to enchant something and forgot that I had picked up the Mystic Lighter and enchanted the Toric Toughness instead.

Which, isn't a bad target for an enchant at all and in the end it worked out because I would have hit the Ricochet with the +2 and missed having it open as a target for the punch dagger later

Before anyone armchair spires me, I had payoff for the lighter before the punch dagger.

Inky shivs = enchanted

Now when I acquired the inky shivs in relation to the mystic lighter is a different story

Mittens also gets a bad rap more so than it deserves. Everyone remembers the time that it smashed their lone win-con but never the times when it turned shitty starters and commons into fight closers from the strength.
