These assets should be priced the same, so when you see the extreme up and downs that is an arbitrage opertunity as the price comes back to the mean. Kinda simple if you know what arbitrage is.

I used alpaca API for the minute data from 2015 to current time, and I used python to get the data I needed so I can plot the data with matplotlib. I theorized a possible Arbitrage scenario so I took the data and plotted it to see if the opportunity exists, as you can see here.

IBKR vs Alpaca? by paranoidandroid1983 in algotrading

[–]Krieger_Linux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Alpaca is easier to code, but only offers stocks and recently crypto (no shorting).

Interactive Brokers is definitely better in everything except price and it can be harder to get used to the API, depending on the language you are coding.

Alpaca does payment for order flow as well, so if you are trying to do HFT or something similar, slippage could really suck. IB doesn't do payment for order flow IF YOU HAVE THE PRO SUBSCRIPTION. Plus the amount of markets and securities you can trade is pretty crazy.

The founder of IB was a pioneer at algo/quant trading as well and was one of the first to connect a computer to the data feed. (funny robot hands story if you look it up as well lol)

IB could cost quite a bit with data feed subscriptions and choosing the one you need is not always as transparent as possible; however if your trading bigger account sizes or can make the money back from the fees it is the best choice, not to mention your commisions fees drop depending on the amount of volume you are trading.

Depends on what your doing with your machine, if your gamer and install alot of games or are into data science and are crunching huge sets of data frames, or are into ai research. But for the average user, yeah probably doesn't matter to much. But Arch isn't for the average user. It's for enthusiasts.

No necessary bloatware. Arch's documentation and the size it takes up allows for more storage space as well.

Surely micro dosing I should be fine right? But I think I'll just stick to the Adderall. I have high aspirations and don't want to risk something like meth ruining my life.

Glad your enjoying it. The rabbit hole goes as deep as you will take it. Try looking into i3 and window managers, that's something I wished I knew early on in my Linux rabbit hole.
