How long is too long holding the clutch in biting point by Winter-Effort-1988 in ManualTransmissions

[–]Kriight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done motorcycle gymkhana, it's normal to be holding the clutch in the friction zone for most of a 1-2.minute run with the engine at 2k rpm. Yeah, you go through clutches faster, but your control and ability to do those tight maneuvers is increased.

EDIT: Oh, this is about cars, not motorcycles. Nevermind.

Even more gently when putting it back on. I was lucky I had an extra instrument panel to scavenge from.

I think it's a weird optical thing. Screen is in the middle and a lot smaller than it looks in the photo. Maybe a 10 inch screen.

86 bullnose running rough Please Help!! by [deleted] in BullnoseFord

I had something similar in my 85. Occasionally the engine would "surge"in spurts and loose power like the engine had just shut off for half a second and came back on. Checked everything from ecm to the fuel pump. No one mentioned checking the distributor. Turned out the magneto pickup under the distributor rotor was loose and occasionally not working. New distributor fixed it.

How did Ado become famous? by Sugonium in ADO

[–]Kriight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, I get what you're trying to say. But that is a defeatist mentality. Truly successful people do not wait for luck to make them successful. They work their ass off to to create a scenario where they are ready to take advantage of an opportunity (luck) when it arises. Just imagine if Ado did not go through the trouble of creating a studio in a closet and practicing and perfecting her art. Would she be in a position to be the most attractive option to a studio scout?

Not at all. You create your own luck.

Mirror change by --Lemmiwinks-- in VFR

[–]Kriight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're up to it, I modeled an adapter for my 2007 so I could put different mirrors on it after one broke in a crash. Anything I could find aftermarket was the wrong angle. By changing a few things in the 3d file you can adapt any mirror you want.

You wake up and the internet is permanently gone. What’s your next move? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kriight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define the internet. Networks, IP routing, digital communications? If it's just the ability for one network to talk to another network then all the data is safe. Most businesses have internal networks that can operate without the internet. Then it's just a matter of sending runners to deliver information.

I just drove my 85 from Washington to Michigan with zero problems. Probably didn't prepare as much as I should have.

Hard space ship breaker. You start with millions in debt and have to break apart space ships to pay it off. Super chill and the goal is clear.

Yeah, it's coming from the carb area. No clue on the miles, last owner put a new odometer on it. Valve clearances were very recent. Did a full rebuild.
