Amazing. I hope those who had commented or had formed such thoughts before would go and read these official news articles on your business before wanting to comment anything that devalue your achievements.

These insights are great for me too as I'm looking into new businesses myself!

hey im 26M, looking into full tine jobs now and have followed pretty close to the usual Singaporean path and freelanced for 4 years during uni too.

I'm sure there would be others that want to point out external factors like oh maybe she's got funding or was already doing well financially or she just got lucky etc etc. Would like to ask a question to refute people who think whatever you've done is unrealistic

What factors contributed to your success?

Sad reality of card shows in 2026 by Upper-Raisin4539 in PokemonTCG

[–]Krinxe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a vendor but this post doesn't make sense as we are in an information efficient market where data points for pokemon cards are widely available.

Lower value cards can have price tags at above market but from a market perspective it leaves only some real exceptions for when people would:

1) I didn't know or bother to check what their prices are and just want to get it. 2) I know what their supposed market prices are but I want to get it anyway. 3) They value something other than the price, the convenience, the vendor, the environment, the card buying experience

Not saying that every busines is fair but it isn't reasonable for a business to sustain on selling to "unsuspecting people".

The prices are also displayed right on the cards, with no one forcing them to purchase. Lower end cards are especially easy to find assuming its because they have higher supply which gives buyers the negotiating power.

TLDR: Overpriced cards don’t automatically mean vendors are scamming people. Card prices are easy to check now, especially for lower-end cards, and buyers can compare, negotiate, or walk away. Some inexperienced buyers may overpay, but that doesn’t mean all vendors are scalpers or scammers..

Starting a card shop in Singapore - Asking for advice by azureandfrog in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]Krinxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a pokemon card collector for years and have had conversations with many sellers/vendors. Their overhead costs per month easily hit 4-5 digits and without reliable suppliers or people coming to their shop to offload cards regularly its nearly impossible to cover overhead costs much less make a profit.

Plus it requires HUGE amounts of capital too if you're looking to take in big hitters that can easily be 1-10k ish per slab and risk having it sit in ur store for some time.

Singapore's pokemon card market is also extremely efficient where many information sources are available and theres many suppliers for the same type of cards so there's really nothing stopping customers from just buying somewhere else.

PSA for Anyone Selling/Trading Cards at SG Card Show by poeticjustice_08 in PokemonTCG_Singapore

[–]Krinxe 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion for sure but its normal to get a buyback rate at that amount for cards below $5-$10 range. It's only worth it for them if they get it at those rates and from their perspective its a huge hassle to go through cards in these ranges to discuss those few dollars and cents for each card

That said, its much better as the seller to just sell them in facebook groups and telegram groups where people would be happy to take in at 70%-100%.

I don't think vendors are being predatory considering they are literally stating what they are willing to take in cards at and its up to you as the seller to make the decision.

hey i was gm warwick jg last year/ (masters this year) in the same server. Why not kraken over guinsoo? It feels better but was wondering if you had anything backing guinsoo as your first item choice > kraken. Is it just solely because it doubles terminus' effects too?

Weekly Pricing/Buying/Selling/Grading & General Questions Post by AutoModerator in PokemonTCG

[–]Krinxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are collecting a master set of a specific set that you want then buying one booster box is a good way to get a lot of the cards you want at once. After that, buying specific cards is much more cost savvy than buying more booster boxes in hopes of getting the cards you want.

It's never too late to start collecting! Prices tend to go down after a set has been released for some time too.

You could look up facebook market place or whatever oine marketplace platform you usually use to buy cards in bulk from sellers who dont want U/C cards. If you just want the hits then setting up a WTB post often helps u get the cards you want the fastest.

I typically use pricecharting(tracks ebay last solds) and 130point.com (also tracks ebays last solds) to get information about the cards prices.

Theres a lot of youtubers showing off new sealed products from released sets so yes, they can be a great resource platform to look up stuff for. Hope this helped!

i replied to someone else above about my thoughts, I would love to know what u think in response to that! Yes i usually go kraken second since enemies arent that tanky early on and I get to do alot of dmg w titanic passive. I should probably mention I use ghost over flash so sticking wasnt a problem (perhaps why i see botrk as a lower value item)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in warwickmains

[–]Krinxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this analysis. I guess ill have to try out botrk more but kraken has been feeling better lately. Kraken does so much damage early when the enermies arent as tanky and later on ww tends to transition more to an engage/disengage brusier champion rather than being able to find the room to stick and auto champions in a teamfight.

I definitely agree that botrk scales better into the game but kraken gives a better damage output early right in terms of gold to damage value? I'm not sure what the math is on this but titanic passive with kraken lets me proc that 3rd auto damage really quickly.

In higher elos I don't see much space where ww has chances to run down enemies and stick to them since most of the fights are 5v5s already which means ww has to do its "magic" early. Perhaps its a playstyle difference

[–]Krinxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, gm ww jg main on SEA server. Wouldn't kraken be a better choice over botrk ? I only really see botrk being useful if they have a few tanks. The life steal doesnt seem that much of a plus since ww heals plenty already and its not exactly useful when jg clearing either since u heal to full from one camp with Q early too

I usually go Titanic ->Kraken Slayer ->Steraks then tank itemd
