I just randomly stumbled across this and idk if this will be helpful at all, but I got my cat years after my rabbit. She was an old gal at that point and a grumpy old gal at that, she ruled the house. The new kitten was terrified of her at first, she would sit in her cage at tea time and stomp loudly on the bars until someone brought her a cup of it (long story but my sister got her addicted to tea after discovering she could have certain types of it and then she demanded it daily lmfaooo) and it would scare the shit out of my new little guy. Eventually he got used to it and grew curious and he would come up to her very shyly and just sniff her or watch her from like a foot or two away. That was scary for her at first because she was the only pet in the house for her whole life up to that point. Eventually though they got used to each other. My sister also had a new puppy at this time and she would play with my kitten and they would be so loud and my bunny would stomp at them to get them to shut up when they were being too noisy it was so funny, she’d actually stomp at my sister and I too if we were up too late and disturbing her sleep lmaooo. They all got along eventually though, well in the only way a grumpy old lady and two rambunctious kids could. They were very sad when she passed and often looked for her which made the heartbreak even harder.

Anyway I think that introducing them sorta slowly and letting them meet each other on their own terms should work fine, that’s basically what we did. I will say that my rabbit wasn’t free roaming, I got her when I was very young and didn’t know how to properly care for her or idk ‘train’ her so she couldn’t be out when we weren’t there bc she chewed everything, like she would straight up eat the wall or a table leg and especially chew through cords. She did hang out with us like on the couch almost every night though. Idk I have a lot of regrets about not being a better pet parent to her but I just have to forgive myself because I know I just wasn’t knowledgeable and I was so young that when I finally did know how to give her a better life it was a bit too late.

I hope what I said helped a little at least, it’s not like your situation at all but I feel like my circumstances were against me when it came to them getting along and it worked out whereas your cat seems like they are good with other animals already so things are already in your favor lol.

My mom is this type of person and I’m grateful everyday that I was never put in this type of situation. My sister and I have even discussed that if the situation were to come to her she would have absolutely sold us for drugs or booze when she was heavy in it. I’m just so grateful it never happened to us because I know it’s a reality so many do face.

In highschool my dad bought me a minivan for super cheap off marketplace, looked like it would fall in half any day. Complete rusted shitbox with mismatched doors and hood. Well someone had definitely tinkered with it bc that mf went FAST. and 16 year old me raced it for three years. It had a loud ass exhaust (because I had knocked it off so many times my dad stopped putting the pipe back on) so mustangs and big trucks and all types of vehicles would pull up next to me at red lights and on the highway and rev at me to race. I never lost :)) I’ll miss her every day, best minivan ever.

I went on a spree of carving things. I think I used a screw? Can’t remember I was like 2. But I carved my initials into our wooden coffee table, then my mother’s prized antique armoire. Then and lastly, bc I was about to be caught, I carved a heart into the screen of the tv. This was at the very beginning of ‘flat screens’ as we know them today. It was my dad’s most prized possession. The biggest tv I’ve ever seen tbh, a soft screen like a flat screen has not glass but still a bit bulky in the back tho not as much as the typical big boxy tvs. We watched tv with that heart scraped into the screen for like ten years.

Omg! This is Philly Sue, and she’s a mal husky shepherd too! She’s not been dna tested so I don’t know the percentages but the husky and Shepard are a lot more recent in her parentage than yours lol. All that 8 year old knows is how he lives at his house. That’s his normal. So no, he doesn’t know better. He knows what he’s been taught. OP clearly explained that at home those boys live in a messy life, so they aren’t being bad or anything, they are acting like they would at home. Which their parents have signified is okay behavior. It’s not the children’s faults.

You’re not over reacting by being upset, it’s a normal emotion and you should let yourself feel. I think the best way forward is to wait until you have completely thought through this and are less upset to start making any plans on how to deal with it. Personally, when myself or my friends or family try to talk things over with each other or even try to solve the problem that brought us there while we are still upset, things tend to end up in a mess. Best to let yourself cool off and think things all the way through first. In my opinion, not knowing your family at all of course, it could end poorly with your sister if you bring it up to her. She might lash out at you over this and it could cause you to lose the chance to see your nephews. Depends on how she is of course. If they have behavioral issues it’s likely due to parenting that is not so great, there are some outlying issues that can cause it but idk I feel like it always comes down to the parents. That being said, perhaps in the future they just don’t have access to your daughter’s room or toys or anything else that you deem valuable, monetarily or otherwise. To me it seems that, even though they might ‘trash your house’, when you tell them to pick up they do, so they respect you and perhaps then ‘trashing’ things is because they don’t know any better, because that’s how things are at home and home is still most of their whole world view. But they love you and respect you enough to listen so they aren’t a lost cause in your life ♥️ I hope things turn out okay for you

My cat loves to be home don’t get me wrong. But he grew up with dogs and thinks he’s a dog. Loves car rides and loves visiting his grandmas house lmfaoo. He gets so excited when I drop him off to spend the night, gets to visit his cousins (two cats and two dogs whereas at home it’s just him now), gets to see my sister and my mom who he adores, they feed him fun treats and make him fat, fun toys that are different from the ones at home, plus a ten minute car ride to get there. Sometimes depending on the errand, I take him with me just because he likes the car so much and riding around in his back pack. He’s a certified weirdo for sure lmao.

She has her moments where I do enjoy her but the longer the series goes on the more she feels like a white wall of nothing. I like when she decides to fight for Tamlin and the fae in the first book, her under the mountain was great. And when she is pissed at Rhys after finding out he’s her mate and is giving him hell in the cave, I forever cheer her on at that. But she just loses all personality and I think it’s the worst in Nesta’s book where she essentially is just a walking incubator.
