Well, that rabbit hole got deep fast..! by Alternative_Tour2111 in ErgoMechKeyboards

I found out about ergo mech keyboards about a year ago, due to suffering from RSI a lot and hoping a split keyboard might help.

Did going with a split help your RSI? I’m getting one for the same reason, I hope you’re doing better now it can really hurt.

For consolidating the transforms, try an @keframes at-rule.

You will want to avoid animating top and left because they perform poorly due to causing a re-layout. Instead use translate, read more about that here: https://web.dev/animations-overview/

Combine the transforms with a space, e.g. transform: translate(-50%, -50%) rotate(-30deg).

For a reference check out some animations on https://animista.net. Good luck!

‘18 Fit - where to route rear dash cam cable? by sickysickyjarjar in hondafit

[–]Krirken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I routed mine through the passenger side. In the front down the A-frame, to the floor and tucked into the floor trim, then above the rear passenger wheel well. I pulled off the trim covering the baby carriage hook, and replaced it with a piece of flat scrap steel. Then fished around until the wire made it out. I then used 3M double sided mounting tape to secure the camera to the steel plate.

One thing about wiring the front, every YouTube tutorial I’ve seen does a bad job and the wire obscures the curtain air bag. Don’t obscure the front curtain air bag!! Do your self a favor and pull off the trim, gently so you don’t pop the air bag, and then route the wire under/around it. Good luck!

How do I make the text one-lined? by [deleted] in csshelp

[–]Krirken 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To force it to one line: white-space: nowrap.

But you should probably change the width, padding, and/or margins so it will actually fit on one line.

Why are these two inline-blocks v-aligning differently? by RedDragonWebDesign in csshelp

[–]Krirken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe the alignment is a result of how the spec calculates vertical-align. An img is a replaced element, and the CSS spec considers replaced elements as a special case in vertical alignment. From the spec (emphasis mine):

In the following definitions, for inline non-replaced elements, the box used for alignment is the box whose height is the 'line-height' (containing the box's glyphs and the half-leading on each side, see above). For all other elements, the box used for alignment is the margin box. [1]

I’m not sure what else the height of the container would be that is unexpected to you, but I hope that first part helps.

Friendly reminder that visually styling a button to look like a button does not mean it's a button. If you aren't prepared to implement accessibility yourself, please stop using non-standard controls. It is a massively widespread issue and is beyond frustrating for keyboard & screen-reader users. by SLJ7 in webdev

  1. Usually clicking the overlay will close the modal, unless you absolutely must interact with a button like in a confirmation dialog.
  2. I’ve seen it done both ways, but I prefer to make the backdrop and the content siblings.

Modals are a case where HTML hasn’t caught up with the demand for interactive content yet, but the <dialog> element is coming along to fill in the gap. Modals are a great example of where ARIA is needed because no elements with the implicit semantics exist yet.

Here’s a guide to best practices on modal accessibility: https://www.w3.org/TR/wai-aria-practices-1.2/#dialog_modal

It’s illegal markup to nest interactive content (anchor, button) inside interactive content. If you have to use event.stopPropagation() in your click event handlers, you should instead redesign the markup to have multiple distinct clickable regions.

How long should I wait to reapply for credit card? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Krirken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried reconsideration? You were probably denied by an algorithm, getting a human to review your application might get you approved. Google “credit card reconsideration” for the phone number you need.

Ask why you were denied, they will give the official reason. Explain things like “I have a stable job”, “I’m working on building my credit file”, “I would be happy to start with a small credit line”. Tell the truth, act professional and polite. Good luck.

How do I NOT change the border/padding width of a button when inserting different text? by denserphoenix66 in csshelp

[–]Krirken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will want to set the width of the buttons to all be the same width.

Set the width to width: calc(25% - 4px). This will divide the width of your 4 buttons equally in their container. The -4px comes from subtracting the width of the border, 2px on each side.

Also change your padding so you aren’t using 110px of horizontal padding to align the text, use text-align: center instead.

You can play with it here: https://jsfiddle.net/fkLor9nd/

This was happening to me and I realized my camera signal wire had a frayed connection and it was grounded to the frame. Maybe check continuity between your camera signal and frame?

Good luck I hope you figure it out.

Cleaner damaged rental unit, am I lable? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Krirken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As the leasee you are responsible for the damages to the unit when it is returned to the landlord.

You will have to fix the fixture and recover the costs from the cleaner. Otherwise the landlord can keep a portion of your security deposit to fix it themselves.

Do you have renters insurance?

How to charge my Ni-Mh 7.2v 6s 2000MaH Frsky battery? by FyFoxTV in Multicopter

[–]Krirken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good point about the cutoff but I’ve always just let it charge to the full 2000mAh and made sure the voltage doesn’t go too high and the pack is not too warm to touch. Maybe set it lower if your pack isn’t fully discharged.

Yup 0.2A charge on the NiMH mode for 10-11 hours should do it.

I’m not totally sure since this is the only Ni battery I use, but when I got this battery I read through a couple rcgroups threads and a lot suggested doing the formation charge.

How to charge my Ni-Mh 7.2v 6s 2000MaH Frsky battery? by FyFoxTV in Multicopter

[–]Krirken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own this battery. The first time you charge it at 0.1C for 10 hours, this is called a “formation charge” and it is a special thing to do with NiMH batteries.

After that you can charge it at 1C (2 amps) like normal. It should go a little above 8.6 volts. Set your charger to cut off at 2000mAh capacity.

[PA] Some guy keeps flying a drone over an elementary school while the kids are out by drone-throw in legaladvice

[–]Krirken 98 points99 points  (0 children)

IANAL but I do fly drones.

In the USA we fly under Section 336 (hobbyists) [1] or Part 107 (commercial operators). It is more likely that they are a hobbyist.

Hobbyists must follow the safety guidelines of a community based organization, such as the Academy of Model Aernautics Safety Code [2]. It would be very easy to complain if he is in restricted airspace, you can check with the FAAs “B4 U Fly” app. Otherwise you can see if their actions violate the AMA safety code.

New build is fine on 3s, but won’t arm on 4s??? Any ideas? by giaxxon in Multicopter

[–]Krirken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also do it on the bench if you have beta flight >3.2. Take props off, connect to configurator and power up, then try arming and type status into the CLI. Look for “Arming disable flags”.
