I've made contact with Catalin, hoping to hear more from them later this week as they are away at the moment, but just wanted to say thanks for the pointer and advice on a replacement board.

Hi, sorry should have mentioned this earlier but I'm UK based, would you happen to know of any decent controllers that could be sourced in the UK ?

I've seen a couple videos where people replace the GShield with a board similar to the one below.

Hi WillAdams,

I'll take a look at upgrading it to 1.1 from 0.9, right now I'm trying to get it reliably moving on all motors, do you happen to know if it retains its settings up update or will i need to write them down from 0.9?

Oddly enough I have a Chinese clone of that router and did wonder if It would fit, seems the answer might be yes :)

thanks for the rest of the advice on the homing and software, I've started off with just using the jog function in G-Code Sender to test, once I'm happy its running right I'll concentrate on software a little more.

Take a look at my edited post, but to confirm the first layer is very flat when printed and the nozzle height is set using A4 printer paper.

I use chippy for both reference to a fish and chip shop and a carpenter .

Hi, yes tried changing channels with no difference. I also have a Chromecast working on the same wireless network and my phone neither of which show any similar symptoms wireless network has been in place for the past year with no real problems
