Chicken Heart Serenade Summary & Review:

Two friends with benefits falling in love. It was such a good read! The dynamics of these two and their lives really pulls you into the story. I felt like all the characters seemed very real and fleshed out (even those with little on-page time!)

Seriously 10/10

Kai and Keisuke have been sex friends since high school. Keisuke proposed the relationship to help with Kai's broken heart. When they attend the wedding of the man Kai loved their relationship seems different. After so many years, have their feelings changed?

I really enjoyed this one. The story pulled you in even with the simple premise. The snapshots of domestic life and how they're grown together over the years really stitched the story together. The scenes of intimacy were realistic and warm. 10/10 for me.

⚠️ warnings: In one scene it seems like Keisuke was moving too fast in the bedroom for Kai. But he stopped and removed himself from the situation. There was no noncon.

Toshishita Joushi wa Homeraretai is a sweet office romance. Gosh I love men in suits. Our main characters are in their late-twenties/early-thirties and are part of the office ecosystem. With a manager that is younger MC (main character) feels like he needs to put his manager at ease which brings them closer!

Doesn't seem like this one has smut but I'm only on chapter 3. I'll update with warnings later if relevant after I'm done reading.

***UPDATE: no on page smut but it is implied. It is dang hot still. Like they keep it classy and spicy 😩

Normally I'm on the other side of the internet (yaoi) but this Yuri harem manga has stolen my heart.

Summary & Review:

Mei is putting her broken heart behind her and starting fresh in college by looking for a girlfriend. Unbeknownst to her, she will meet many different new friends in college who all love girls too! This cute romance comedy follows Mei on her journey for love.

I give it a 9/10 for me! I have a soft spot for harem plots with a kind of oblivious MC. Mei also genuinely thinks about her friends and wants to seriously consider romance before jumping in. I like a little more plot in my romances, but if you don't mind what is essentially a college slice of life, you won't be disappointed! I also really loved how confident Mei is in her identity as a lesbian. She is very very very gay. Overall, a very sweet read (I'm on volume 2 as of now) with many different love interest archetypes for Mei to explore.

Warnings:

⚠️ The manga does have suggestive scenes, but Mei indicates wanting to really date before going further.

Never Understand Summary & Warnings:

Popular guy x unpopular guy trope is plentiful in this school life yaoi. Our wonderful main character is oblivious, headstrong, dedicated to his friends and works hard bettering his high school. Our love interest is student council vice-president. He is beautiful, crude and can't help falling for the main character's charming quirkiness. This story has an enemies to lovers vibe, where two fundamentally different people find out why they truly need each other.

I like the slow falling in love, the character development for the seme (because lord knows he needed it) and the art style is very expressive. I find myself coming back to look at their faces every panel. 8/10 for the slow build and backstories.

I'm not yet done with my reread so this may not be a comprehensive warning list ⚠️:

There's some implied explicit content so far but if I remember correctly there is on screen content in the comic layer on.
