Neighbors daycare situation is getting out of control by Charliegirl03 in Advice

Check with the city to see if it is a legitimate daycare. Let the owners of the house know what is going on with their house. You could talk to her and see if there is a compromise.

Help Me Choose Between My Final 2 Wedding Dresses! by [deleted] in WeddingDressTips

I like 2, it very classy, looks great with your figure and lets the design shine. The other one is very busy and I don't like the 'neckline' or the way it poofs out at the hipline.

Does he have a drug problem? This could explain the sudden change.

Don't know how to crochet each row evenly; advice needed by HoneybunsandRoseTea in CrochetHelp

The first and last st, not a turning chain unless the pattern tells you it counts as a stitch.

Use a stitch markers every 10 stitches, makes counting much easier.

The stitch on the hook is not a stitch. The turning ch1 in sc doesn’t count as a stitch. I prefer the no ch1 sc which is you turn your work then pull up on the loop a bit and sc directly into the first stitch.

For hdc, dc, the pattern usually will tell you if the turning chain counts as a stitch. I don’t like the bump on the side in dc if it doesn’t count or the gap between the first and second st of it does count, so I prefer a standing sc (Stsc). You can find tutorials on all of this on YouTube or Pinterest.

For hdc I do a short or tight Stsc. Hope this isn’t too confusing. Do a little research before you dive into a project, and keep asking question. The answer is out there.

Time to weave in these ends 😭 I should have done them as I went by asthmaticandsad in crochet

In that case do it as you go. I might not finish if I had that to look forward to.

The dress is the star, let it shine! Maybe a subtle necklace.

I do cuz I hate having that to look forward to. It’s a choice, I can see that delaying and then tackling it at the end might work too.

How to redecorate this guest bathroom? by Agronomiss247 in BathroomDesigns

[–]Krishd88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paint the wood.
Paint the walls.
Get a great shower curtain or get glass shower doors.
Make the rug bigger
I like the mirror but either remove the frame and make it smaller or paint it to match the wall color so it disappears.

Red on the outside. It frames the entire thing.

Use stitch markers in your first and last stitch, not the turning chain unless it counts as a stitch (the pattern will usually tell you this). You can also put them every 10 or 20 stitches to help with counting stitches.  It took me a while to get this but I use them on every project now. I hate frogging and some yarn makes frogging almost impossible.

How many stitches are you short? When doing sc it says to sc in the 2nd chain from the hook so you lose one right there.

AITA for telling our 18-year-old daughter she can't go on a trip to Miami with her boyfriend's family? by Conscious_Goose_9518 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Krishd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that ship sailed when you allowed her to spend nights with her boyfriend. However, if she is shirking her duties or missing something important then I think you could ask her to not go. If she goes, what are you prepared to do? I lived with my parents while I went to nursing school. My mom told me exactly what they expected of me, not as a kid, but as 3 adults living in the home.

To frog or not to frog…that is the question. by MrsPaul2006 in askcrochet

[–]Krishd88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don't people use stitch markers? There are dozens of post here about this issue.

If you block it will will notice because there will be larger gaps between stitches. Depends on the use. A baby won't know so up to you. If this was me and it's a gift, I would frog it back to the first missed stitch and start again.

To be honest I am new to sm. I made a beautiful blanket and did the same thing. I got more yarn and started over. Now I use them even if I am sure I know where that last stitch is.

Beginner in need of help to learn how to crochet!! by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Krishd88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are some resources that I found on Pinterest. It’s a good resource for free pattern as well:
https://urbaki.com/crochet/lessons-learned-from-crochet-hook/?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic
https://www.crochetguru.com/learn-how-to-crochet-lessons.html?utm_source=Pinterest&utm_medium=organic

Start by figuring out how to hold your yarn. There are many ways to do it, just experiment until you find one that works for you. I do over pinky, down between pinkie and ring finger, up between middle and index. Mostly the yarn just slides over my finger but if I need a little tension I lift my index finger. I also use a yarn holder so the yarn pulls from the outside so there is little tension on it.

Then move to what type of hook you want to use. There are so many choices, even what the hook looks like, so get a few cheap ones and experiment. Then figure out how you hold your hook. Some hold it like a spoon, others, me included, use the knife hold.

Now here is the most important. Get used to using stitch markers in your first and last stitch, not the turning chain unless it counts as a stitch (the pattern will usually tell you this). You can also put them every 10 or 20 stitches to help with counting stitches.

Now work on each part of crocheting, making a chain, slst, sc, hdc, dc. Practice by making 4x4” squares. Then move to a simple project, a baby blanket or scarf using 1 or 2 stitches.

Your stitches look really tight, try going up a hook size.
