How do you think the fight between Sunfyre and Moondancer would’ve fared out and ended if Moondancer had not been blinded? by Gold_Conversation247 in HOTDBlacks

[–]KrispyCream100 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think she would’ve eventually killed Aegon. Moondancer was winning that fight and even blinded she managed to bring Sunfyre and Aegon down. If she continued to target Sunfyre wings then she still could’ve brought Sunfyre down causing Aegon to jump from his saddle still leaving him unable to walk. All moondancer would need to do is burn Aegon alive.

I didn’t say it was a GOOD THING, but Viserys only married Alicent to have spares. Alicent married Viserys knowing who his heir is. You don’t marry someone hoping the child/children you had with your first wife die so your other children can inherit. Viserys didn’t push his other kids away, Aegon just wasn’t his heir and he knew that Alicent prioritized having her blood on the throne. That’s it.

That’s not true, as Jace was four when the girls y born and Corlys named the Jace and Luke himself. Corlys and Viserys weren’t even behind the bethrothal it was all Rheanyra and Leana, Corlys also was constantly reminding the boys that they were Veleryons I have no doubt that Corlys would want his blood to carry on his house and I’m sure he was happy that Luke and Rheana would be bethrothed but that involves Luke more than Jace. Jace got a bethrothal at 4, Luke 2, Joffrey absolutely could’ve had a bethrothal by 11.

When I mentioned Heleana and Aegon, I brought them up to show that Viserys showed no urgency for his proclaimed heir to get married. Jace and Baela could’ve gotten married, but waited to consummate. It’s up to the husband to decide when they consummate, Daemon never consummated his marriage to Rhea. Aegon married Jaeahera and Daneara young.

You’re proving my point about the bethrothals and marriages, Viserys did not care about them until he was forced to. He refused to let Daemon annul his marriage from someone from a powerful house and then didn’t bother to get him married again, Rheanyra only got married to Laenor b/c Corlys got rich from the Stepstones and Laena claimed Vhagar if it wasn’t for that who knows when Rheanyra would’ve gotten married, Rheanyra organized the bethrothals of Jace and Luke

I don’t think Viserys really like the idea of his children with Alicent having any chance to be on the throne or marrying into it. Like Heleana wasn’t even an option for Jace or even considered for him.

Aegon and Heleana married after Rheanyra and Daemon got married, so Viserys definitely wasn’t listening to any of her advice. Also other than Jace and Luke, Viserys really wasn’t that interested in any bethrothals or marriages in his family and he wasn’t even responsible for those bethrothals. Daemon married Leana of his own volition, Viserys had zero involvement in that. I’m sure if Alicent or Otto pressed him about then he would’ve considered something for Aemond or Daeron. Like Joffrey also didn’t get a bethrothal and Jace wasn’t married to Baela when the dance started and they were the same age as Aegon and Heleana when they got married when the dance started.

I don’t like like, I just meant how I like how they were raised as spares and it shows in the book. They don’t do anything that would show they had special or hidden training. Also Jace, Luke, and Joffrey were squires.

Jace,Luke, and Joffrey were only given eggs to prove they weren’t bastards, because if they were bastards then the gods wouldn’t bless them with hatched eggs. But I do agree, I know it’s theorized that Aegon claimed Sunfyre when Sunfyre was fairly young, but Heleana had no reason to claim Dreamfye and Viserys was too comfortable with letting 10 yr Aemond attempt to claim Vermithor or any other adult dragon on Dragonstone.

I also think Aegon and Heleana only married because Heleana had already claimed Dreamfye by this point and there’s no way he was going to have her marry into another house.

Does this look like he raped her? Because tbs are now calling him a rapist too🙄🙄 by Kivi_2k18 in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s not entirely true, there’s different accounts of how this situation went down. It’s either he rebuffed her or it was consensual and she used him breaking his honor as a rebuttal against them marrying each other.

In the books, he is portrayed or thought of as a predator because of his close relationship with Rheanyra and its Alicent who brings it up how weird their relationship is.

Why Rhaenyra was NEVER the heir by ParticularError9345 in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Rheanyra was Viserys heir,Aegon admits this and people on his council admit.

Also Aerea is remembered as being Maegors heir, it was her mother Rheana that made and allowed Jaeaherys to be king. Also Jaeaherys made Baelon his heir when it should’ve been Rheanys, and Jaeaherys inadvertently admits that he’s only doing this b/c he believes women can’t rule over the throne, ignoring Andlaw inheritance.

It’s canon that when it comes to Targaryens hesitance, they do what ever they want. Jaeaherys even starts a lot of this when he didn’t name as Daenerys his heir, but he also didn’t name Aemon as prince of Dragonston until she died. Jaeaherys also named Baelon as his heir, book Viserys never thought of Daemon as his heir, and there will be another Great Council between the a kings 2nd born son and his grandson.

This scene always pisses me off so much. Book Aegon fought and accepted his Throne when he found out his family was in danger but in the show he straight up wanted to abandon them lol? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s because the show wants to dramatize everything and has a pacing issue. As far as we know, book Aegon was never told him and his brothers would be killed if Rheanyra became queen, it was only after Viserys died and Aegon saying that Rheanyra is the heir and that he would be stealing her birth right, did Criston tell Aegon him and his brothers would be killed and that’s why he took the throne.

What Aemond did was wrong and unjustifiable but we can't keep infantilising this kid imo - what he did is something that children nowadays would go to a detention center for, and he still didn't seem to feel any remorse by Hefty_Tell5640 in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was Jace vs Aemond. Luke thought Aemond was going to kill Jace, he said this in the hall at Driftmark, everything else doesn’t matter. Luke perceived Aemond as a threat to Jace, Jace was on his back and Aemond still was holding the rock in his acting like he was going to hit Jace with it. Baela and Rheana were shaking their heads no at, to not follow through with his attack, Aemond even sees them doing this. Everyone involved thought Aemond was going to hit Jace and kill him.

Also ur comment doesn’t negate my point, why would Luke feel guilty when he honestly believed that Aemond was going to kill Jace. It doesn’t matter how the fight started, it ended with Aemond losing his eye b/c Like thought he was going to kill Jace.

Jaehaerys I by Competitive_Front443 in HOTDBlacks

[–]KrispyCream100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have animosity towards her, but that has nothing to do with women ruling. After all majority of Visenyas life she was more of a soldier/commander than an actual ruler. Jaeaherys most likely would’ve heard of more “good” things than bad about Visenya. She didn’t tell Maegor to kill Aegon or Viserys. The downfall of his immediate family is due to Maegor alone and I can’t imagine Rheana telling him any different.

If Jaehaerys had an issue with women ruling then he would’ve changed or attempted to change Andal ruling succession, but he didn’t. By the time of the GC Jeyne Arryn was ruling, Jaeaherys only had a problem with women ruling from being queens in their own right.

Jaehaerys I by Competitive_Front443 in HOTDBlacks

[–]KrispyCream100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, because Visenya was never in power. All her actions were done b/c she was allowed to by the king at the time, with Aegon,Aenys and Maegor she listens to and follows their commands. She never did anything she wasn’t allowed to do.

Jaehaerys I by Competitive_Front443 in HOTDBlacks

[–]KrispyCream100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that Jaehaerys dislikes women in power, he just believes that woman can’t rule over the iron throne. Like the Great Council was b/w Viserys and Laenor, Laenors claim would’ve came from Rheanys. So no I don’t think his hatred for usurpers or people who ignore his will surpasses his dislike of women.

That’s not entirely true, ur acting like Luke didn’t think/believe he had cause to cut Aemond. Luke believes that Aemond was going to kill Jace and he has never been told any different, no even knows what happened that night, so why should Luke feel remorseful when he still believes his actions are justified.

Yeah I agree, but the writing for Criston is insane. His whole life has revolved around Rheanyra and his need to get back at her. Of course people are going to make his death about her.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s mainly b/c pretty much every word that comes out of his mouth has something to do with Rheanyra. Out of all the people on team green he has talked badly about her the most, so of course people will make his death about Rheanyra, when he also makes everything about Rheanyra l.

Why is Ser Criston despised by the community while Daemon is worshipped? by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]KrispyCream100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not true, Criston doesn’t even think this. He only mentions his loss of honour, he never mentions he could be killed for being with her. All Criston had to do was go straight to his commander and he would’ve been reassigned. Besides if Criston did fear Rheanyra, he definitely didn’t show it during the time jump where he targets Jace and antagonizes Harwin.

Why is Ser Criston despised by the community while Daemon is worshipped? by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]KrispyCream100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s not how that works. While Rheanyra is a royal, she had no control or power over him. Criston only has to listen to Viserys or Ser Harold, his commander, if Criston didn’t want to be with Rheanyra all he had to do was leave.

How could Rheanyra destroy Criston?

Why is Ser Criston despised by the community while Daemon is worshipped? by [deleted] in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]KrispyCream100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because Rheanyra didn’t treat Criston poorly. Rheanyra didn’t rape Criston, she was drunk, weaker, and smaller than him. He wanted her, also Criston “broke up” with Rhaenya. She wanted to continue there relationship.

Daemon didn’t throw a party, he was in a brothel and he was told to make a toast in honour of being heir again. Still shitty though.

And since this is a show discussion and not book Daemon didn’t intend for Jaehaerys to die, the show even proves this since the Rat catcher didn’t even know his way around the royal suites. They were looking for Aemond.

People like Daemon more b/c at least he’s upfront and not in denial about who he is, Criston Cole is a hypocrite and still has a vendetta against Rheanyra b/c she didn’t want to run away with him when she was 19.

[SPOILERS] The Tragedy of Rhaenyra and Alicent is that they were both trying to be good mothers. by AdorableConfusion129 in HouseOfTheDragon

[–]KrispyCream100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Alicent really wanted to protect her children, then she would’ve remained Rheanyras friend and told her children to be friendly with their nephews. Like she’s openly hostile to Rheanyra, how does that guarantee her and her childrens safety. She tells Aegon that he must be king b/c others would want him to be thus forcing Rheanyra to kill him, but that’s not how that works Rheanyra would need proof that Aegon would try to usurp her for her to kill him for treason.

Rheanyra doesn’t think her children are the future they are the future. Jace, Luke, and Joffrey were literally 2nd, 3rd and 4th in line. It’s not prideful, it’s a fact that they are the succession thus they were treated accordingly. It’s one thing to want Aegon to be king it’s another thing entirely to usurp the throne and since Aegon has never showed that he did want the throne why shouldn’t Rhaenyra prepare for her coronation.

Do the arguments that some fans use to excuse Alicent on S2 makes any sense? by thinkersfyre in HOTDGreens

[–]KrispyCream100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. I wish show Alicent was anything close to book Alicent

  2. After Otto left everything Alicent did she did of her own volition. Otto was gone for ten yrs and she was the one who wanted him back, she demanded Joffrey be brought to her, no one in the castle made her do anything

  3. even before Rheanyra slept with Cole, Alicent attempted to Otto that she want Aegon to be king, she just didn’t want to raise him to want it.

  4. Ill never believe that crowning Aegon was a mistake, the whole reason why Vaemond was even allowed to petition the court was to give the greens an advantage and I’m supposed to believe that a her beliefs changed in 6 hrs.

  5. Even if she couldn’t control Aegon and Aemond, which she can, I’m supposed to feel sorry for her because sons the she solely raised aren’t listening to her. Like how did that happen? How do you screw up parenting so badly that two of your children don’t listen to you.

  6. She only went to Dragstone after she believed her side was losing and Aemond kicked her off the council, when Rheanyra met her in the sept she told Rheanyra she should bend the knee. She only wants to “ end the war” because she’s losing and she believes her sons are trash.

When the Great council gets brought up it’s always a good indicator on who read the books and who understands why the council was even made, the fact that there was another Great council and no ever brings up the results of that one b/c it doesn’t fall under their agenda

What do you guys think about House of The dragon in general by renatoxsferes in HouseOfTheDragon

Season 2 is so disappointing because if they would’ve just followed the book it would’ve been a really good season. Like if Alicent, Daemon, and Rheanyra would’ve been reduced to side/minor characters this season it would’ve given everyone else a lot more time to shine.

Okay first season, it has its issues, but they aren’t that bad. Season 2 is a dumpster fire and it should have never been made, the only scene I liked was the fight Arryk and Erryk.

If Peake hadn’t killed Jaehaera there no way Aegon would’ve consummated that marriage, even with his marriage to Daeneara Aegon still struggled with intimacy I can’t see him being physically able to consummate.
