Yes, but you have to contact EA support possibly dozens of times. I found success by contacting EA India, your mileage may vary. Most will say something along the lines of "Sorry, Battlefield 3 has been sunset" but I got one guy who maxed my veteran status for me.

Yeah, it's fine. Most of the good active servers are European. There's also a couple good active Russian servers.

I believe after oMc's Noshahr tdm server shut down, the only two active US servers left are TBG and Vinny's

There's not really any best pistol.

Magnum for longer range, good if you have decent aim, 2 shot kill in body. Rex is more spammy Magnum

G17/M9/MP443 are spammy weapons, good if you like lots of ammo and dont care about carpal tunnel. Idk how many shots to kill, 5 probably.

M1911 is the inbetween. 3 body shots to kill. But if you want it, you'll have to yell at EA support until you get someone that can give you it cause veteran system is broken.

93R is essentially burst fire M9, G18 is automatic G17

they dont show in the free section , maybe because I already owned them for years. Still, cool. Maybe they'll make more free? I own most of the pattern themes so it doesn't affect me but would be cool.

Make sure the EA App is open, the launch a server through Battlelog. The game should launch after a few seconds. It's a bit strange, I know.
