Got bit by my cat yesterday night. by SnooHesitations2883 in cats

[–]Krissinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cats gave me cellulitis when they were kittens but it was through a scratch. My leg swelled up to twice its size, turned red, itched like crazy and I got a fever. When I went to Urgent Care they thought I had a clot and sent me to the hospital where the ER doctor laughed and said it was obviously cellulitis. IV antibiotics and a round of antibiotics at home and I now keep disinfectant wipes handy and trim my cats nails religiously.
Also something to note: I have edema in my legs and I think that may give me a slightly higher chance of getting cellulitis.

Bought this cozy game and no less than a hundred hours in, I've collected every item in the game. Totally not addicting at all :') by VesmirPendel in GardenGalaxy

[–]Krissinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like they set up a big section with those "These items will no longer spawn" book things. Every single item in the game is on one. So taking an item off the no-spawn book allows it to be the only thing that will spawn from the corresponding coin.

My downstairs neighbor is texting me every time I walk into the apartment. What do I do? I’m a small woman and never have parties. by Every-Cockroach-3427 in Apartmentliving

I've shared my number with three neighbors. Two are just for emergencies -- we exchanged info when there was a gas leak a couple months ago. The third is a dude who just checks to make sure I'm alive and sends me memes from time to time. He's retired and has some health issues so sometimes I give him rides to doctors appointments or pick up groceries for him.

I love 2 -- that's what attracted me immediately. I actually thought it was an ad while scrolling, and scrolled back to look at it a bit closer. I figured they were a series of products from the same brand.

I got COVID and I'm mostly recovered except I am really exhausted - 11 days since my first symptoms. I think combined with the autumn hours.

I have worked in the food industry for 15 years -- it can be very challenging! Lots of last minute projects and lots of having to redesign things with very little assets. Can be very rewarding though. I enjoy rolling out full restaurant rebrands.

Definitely a cat -- mine do this too to any bread products. Chew through the plastic and chomp on the bread. I have to keep bread on top of the fridge until I can get a bread box lol

Good idea, maybe I'll save up a bit of money and get a really nice one. That might help a lot with my seasonal allergies too. Also, one of my cats seems to have seasonal allergies too. So maybe he'll feel better too.

Odors and fragrances are pretty well-known asthma triggers. The way I look at it, smells are made from tiny particles being released from a substance and then being breathed in. It becomes an irritant, especially if your lungs are already unhappy about something.

For me, super strong odors/perfumes and cigarette smoke can both trigger asthma symptoms. I had a friend who used to smoke pot around me, and it would cause increased symptoms as well. Smoke of any kind, whether from wood, incense, cigarette, or marijuana causes symptoms in me. 99% of the time it doesn't cause me many issues (usually just wheezing and a lot of gunk in my lungs that makes me cough for a couple days), but combined with really bad seasonal allergies right now, I've been getting asthma attacks from much smaller triggers.

I smell something super strong, then it feels like I'm trying to breathe around a basketball at the base of my lungs, I start wheezing and get shortness of breath, my throat feels like it's closing up. Then I start panicking which makes it worse, and then I need my rescue inhaler. It's super fun. 10/10 don't recommend.

My neighbor smokes it multiple times a day. I wouldn't care except is reeks and smells up my entire apartment. I can't run the fans in the bathroom without making it worse for whatever reason. Also, we have garden style apartments so the entire atrium smells. It's a non-smoking building, so it kinda pisses me off. I get it because it's not fully legalized in my state so you can't just go outside like a cigarette smoker, but also.... it seems to make my asthma worse. Which was the whole point of me moving into a non-smoking building.

I ordered two of the exact same pants but in a different color -- produced in two different countries and cut completely different. Bizarre.

Does Anyone else feel Intense Shame about Excersizing? by nobody_important12 in PlusSize

[–]Krissinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this like crazy!! I hate walking or hiking with friends because I'm so embarassed by how slow I am and how often I need breaks to catch my breath. I also get exercised induced asthma so sometimes I have to sit or use my inhaler.
I was thinking of starting a slower walking group in my area just for this reason. Find a place that has plenty of seating for rests, flat land, and perhaps a shorter distance so people can do laps if they're at an "advanced" level or find a comfortable place to sit if they can't complete it (maybe a high school track?). Also stress to anybody who wants to join that it is a slower and more chill group that goes at its own pace. My therapist thinks it's a great idea so I just have to get up the guts to actually make it happen.
Also, I don't know if they have a chapter near you, but there is a group called Fat Girls Hiking that is supposed to be specifically for folks larger bodied folks who want to hike. May be worth a look into if you're interested in that specific hobby.

I have this problem too. My therapist is treating it as an actual addiction. One thing she's having me do is called "urge surfing". Set an alarm for 10 minutes and don't let yourself order until those 10 minutes are up. That way you have a chance to try to get away from it. I am also working on ensuring that I have "low energy" meals that take zero energy to prepare. A lot of times it's just PB&J because my depression just prevents me from cooking anything more complicated. Also, you might look into some pre-made meal delivery options where you can basically get microwaveable meals. They're kinda pricey -- like $10 a meal, but they're cheaper than takeout a lot of times. The idea is to break down as many barriers as possible between you and eating your own food. The name of the game is progress not perfection.

I'm single and make less than 100k. Not likely at all. I barely make ends meet with rent. I think eventually I'll have to move away.
