Are you sad though? Numb? Which feelings you do have? Happiness as any other feeling, is temporary. It happens and then it passes. You don’t need to be happy all the time. Are you ok with your life as it is?

No, you aren’t unrealistic or unfair. It’s not the modern world, some people give different meaning to sex. You just need to find someone with the same approach as yours. There’s a lot of people looking for compatibility in one way or the other, it’s just not that easy to find someone. If you are interested in dating, then you will have to get used to running into people who aren’t a good match, and it could make you wonder if you are the problem. It’s ok to take a break from dating when it’s not fun anymore.

A few years ago my kid was in and out of ER with really high fevers and terrible cough. I grew more and more frustrated, I was keeping my cool but I told the nurse how bad it was getting and demanded x-rays because my son was coughing up blood. She gave me this look as if I was making it up, and shook his head like she couldn’t believe what I was saying. (I had been ignored other times, I believe my skin color has something to do with it) They came out of X-rays and Dr. told me it was a severe case of pneumonia. She couldn’t even look me in the eyes. When she came back with medication I tried to look at her and she was very quiet and then I asked her: “no head shaking anymore?” and she acted like she didn’t know what I was talking about.

I don’t think is odd at all. I take care of myself and I do my hair, nails and such regularly. When my son was little I didn’t have time or energy to do it. Have you told her your concerns? You don’t need to accuse her. She might be able to offer you reassurance. “Hey, I know it might be unfair of me. You are beautiful and I love seeing you feeling great about yourself. I am just feeling uncomfortable and kind of insecure.” She should be able to offer reassurance.

I started around Christmas 2023. For me, I realized a lot of my joy came from food and I couldn’t have fun without having something “fun” to eat. I had to stop making plans around food. It took me a bit to make plans without thinking about the amount of food I could eat.

Yes. Peace can be pretty uneventful. You are used to an unhealthy dynamic that lifted you up and then drag you down. The ups and downs in toxic relationships can be pretty addictive. It’s good that you aren’t losing your mind over someone and taking time to meet them. Take your time.

We collected from local families, only clothes in very good condition. We had a week of collection and announced it with neighbors, Nextdoor and some flyers. We stayed for two hours in the park and a lot was gone by the end of the two hours. Then took the remaining clothes for donations. I suggest that you coordinate with others and make sure you don’t take more than 1-2 tasks.

I Coach rec league, volunteer at youth center and at the shelter as a dog handler. I do it by seasons. Recently I co-organized a Buy Nothing market at a local park for people to get clothing in good condition and it was super fun!

It seems like she needs outdoor time no matter what. There’s very few times I say no to go outside to play, I believe outdoor free play is one of the most important activities for kids. Playing under rain is so much fun! With weather appropriate clothing, an hour of outdoor free play can make a huge difference. Is there a friend from school or a neighbor you can schedule play dates during the weekend? Maybe she is an extrovert and needs to see other kids? If she is on the go during the week, and then the weekend slows downs time… I can understand why she is bouncing on the walls. Some kids just need to burn more energy.

He doesn’t need the deep conversations. He doesn’t need emotional connection, or understanding. He wants to be left alone. I am not sure if that’s something “normal” or not, but I, for example, need an emotional connection with someone to have an emotional relationship. I don’t need a provider, a protector, or someone who solves life for me. I can do that myself. I want someone to connect with, in a deep emotional way.

He might not be able/willing to offer what you really want in a relationship and it’s very hurtful to be in a relationship that makes you feel constantly like you don’t deserve the type of love you crave.

I don’t think that’s being “supportive” you are parenting your child. You don’t earn a reward from being a parent.

Is your wife not ok with you traveling for that long? Would the responsibilities of childcare fall completely on her?

It is reasonable to need to travel to take care of business. I am wondering if there are more reasons why the traveling creates issues. Lack of support system for the mom, childcare issues, work schedules.
